At 32 weeks pregnant, I joined the World Hydrogen Summit, for the the 5th time last week. It was exciting and dynamic 3 days, which I spent between the Vattenfall booth, meeting rooms, the Women In Green Hydrogen booth and content rich Summit sessions. On 13 May, the event kicked off for me with a global Women In Green Hydrogen panel on partnering competitors to accelerate the hydrogen economy with Dr Samira Barakat, VP, Vattenfall, Fiona Simon, CEO, Australian Hydrogen Council, Mary Rose de Valladares, Non-Executive Director, ATOME and Vibeke Rasmussen, SVP, Yara Clean Ammonia. We discussed why do we need partnerships among competitors, across the value chain and with public sector, and provided concrete examples of successful partnerships, and what can break them! Aligned timelines, ambition and risk appetite is crucial, together with cultural fit. I also had the pleasure to join #hydrogen #careers panel together with Dr Fatemeh Rezazadeh, VP, VARO Energy and Michael Johnson, MD, BOSS Energy Consulting and Rob Arthur, Director, Sustainable Energy Council , where we discussed how to build and grow a career in the hydrogen sector, and some of the hard and soft skills needed to be successful in interviews. It has been very useful to be on the ground, meeting potential partners, off takers, industry experts, gaining market intel, building and strengthening relationships together with my team members Felix Wuertenberger, Bent Vopel, Joep van de Kamp and colleagues Marie Tricaud, Alejandro Palma, Nienke Hosman, Patricia Platen, CFA, Piyush Katakwar, Dr. Jens Dickmeis, Erik Suichies, Hasan Oezdem, Daria Buechi and many more! It was also fantastic to welcome German State Secretary, Silke Krebs, to the Women In Green Hydrogen booth, and tell her all about our growing NGO. A reunion with H2UB's brilliant team took place at the #WiGH booth too, where Cosima Sagmeister, Anaïs Laporte, Racheda Rachel MELLOUL and I met #hydrogen #startup founders! Great to be on the ground also with Carla Reihle, Ann-Kathrin Lipponer and Katherine Aliste Rosemberg at the exhibition hall. #WiGH networking dinner is always my highlight at Rotterdam! This year, under Afkenel Schipstra's leadership, we had 65 women attending the dinner! Not enough word count to tag and thank everyone here, but I just have to share, what a great opportunity to catch up with female experts in the sector, and make new connections. Very proud of our diverse community spanning across 70+ countries! I look forward to returning the #WHS next year already!

Always a pleasure to see you Gokce Mete . You are an inspiration for all women and of course Women In Green Hydrogen . Seeing your energy at 32 weeks pregnant is a testament of your engagement. This also reminded me of when I was pregnant and working many moons ago in London and how much progress has been made to support women who wish to have a career while raising a family!

Amazing to think back 5 years and the scale of the event now Gocke and loved having you contribute in so many different ways to add to the event. Hopefully you can put your feet up now and enjoy motherhood! But obviously expect to see you and the little one next year!!
