Last Friday I attended an amazing workshop on how to elevate my networking game by Joana Neves Did you know that when you meet people, you get more value when your conversation is relational and not only informational? Getting to know what someone does is good (informational), but getting to know why they love what they do, is great (relational) because you can find out that what connects you is your drive, and that makes the conversation memorable. 🏆 Celebrating a Hackathon Win! 🏆 I'm overjoyed to share that our project emerged as one of the winners in my very first hackathon and I'm thrilled to share the success with my amazing teammates! They are real stars who worked tirelessly on the project. 🌟 I had the privilege of contributing to our project by conducting a competitor analysis, developing a task analysis and story ideation for the presentation. 🔍 Competitor & Task Analysis: My role involved diving deep into the landscape, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of our competitors, and extracting insights that guided our strategy. I also had the opportunity to break down a process into manageable tasks, ensuring our design solution were not only user-friendly but also practical and efficient. 💡Story Ideation: I challenge myself and I had the pleasure of contributing with some ideas and helping shape the narrative for our presentation. I aimed to tell our project's story in a compelling way that would resonate with our audience. 🌐 Learning Journey: This hackathon was a tremendous learning experience. From refining my analytical skills in competitor and task analysis to exploring the art of storytelling, I've gained invaluable insights that will undoubtedly shape my future. 🙌 However, the real magic happened through the collective efforts of my outstanding teammates. Their dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit brought this project to life. Walking the Catalyst path is not an easy road. But some Catalyst roads are harder than others, even when you're advocating for a more just, equitable, and inclusive world. Speaking truth to power can be a scary, even terrifying step to take in helping to make a better world. But without people who are willing to highlight injustice or bad behavior (no matter how "unintentional"), how will we ever achieve real justice? "Unintentional" transgressions still need to be acknowledged and reconciled by the transgressor. And public legal threats against people who are trying to create more inclusive communities is the perfect demonstration of a system that would rather use intimidation to avoid self-reflection, rather than bring curiosity and self-reflection to a tough conversation. We must have the backs of those who show up with almost unimaginable bravery. I believe in the power of community and personal support. #catalyst #catalystmovement PS - the amount of time I spent writing and rewriting this small post, shows the power of backlash against those who speak out and how much I've internalized it.
