Take a look at the 7 blocks Goal Park will be turning into a linear park. Where is Goal Park? Rusk + McKinney and Emancipation + Ennis. As you swipe take note of the improvement in safety like the safe crossing area, along with fitness areas, murals, a pavilion, and the civic lawn. We can't wait to bring this park to EaDo by 2026 and the World Cup! We are actively fundraising. Please donate to help make this park a reality: https://www.goalpark.org/

Fun Fact Friday: Where was the Houston Post's printhouse? The Houston Post did not have a single designated printhouse over its lifespan; instead, it functioned from a printing-centric structure constructed in 1944 on Polk Street in #EaDo. This particular building served as the home for the Houston Post's printing presses from that period until the newspaper ceased operations in 1995. Presently, the building has been transformed into a retail and dining establishment named "Printhouse," preserving the heritage of the site. Park Facts: 🌳 Did you know parks and trees help boost your immune system? Trees can help boost your immune system through a chemical they release into the air, phytoncides, that increases white blood cells in the bloodstream. If you would like to learn more about the natural vegetation we will preserve and bring to Goal Park or if you would like to donate to our project please visit: goalpark.org

Huge thank you to #WellnessForHOU leading us through our poses, and thank you to #Livelihood for sponsoring the event for local community members to attend! Want to join us for the next yoga session? Fun Fact Friday: How did EaDo get its name? On November 28, 2022, John Nova Lomax, in an article for the Houston Press, described East Downtown Houston as "a silent, godforsaken stretch of no-man's land that's not really the Warehouse District, nor the Third Ward, nor the East End." He mentioned that he resorted to "that bulky definition" because by 2000, the name "Chinatown," still prevalent in the 1980s and 1990s, was no longer fitting. It was during the late 2000s that the area eventually acquired its current name.
