💡I love having light bulb moments especially when they bridge work and home. One day, my sixth grade daughter came home eagerly asking me what I knew about the "A Boy and His Atom" - the world's smallest movie created by IBM's Research group years ago. It was fascinating, and she taught me something new about the place I've worked at for 14 years. She went on to share about her class science fair. Sixth grade was learning how to build hypotheses for their experiments. #IBM has been transforming and growing its 112 year business by constantly solving problems. And as a strategy consultant, I use hypotheses to solve enterprise problems. Last week, I had the opportunity to share with sixth graders how hypotheses are fundamental to solving problems, not just in the classroom but in real life. It was fascinating seeing their light bulb moment!! 💡 #payitforward #alwayslearning #growth

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 For the second year in a row, I'm thrilled to share that I've been recognized as one of the top 2% of scientists worldwide, according to Stanford University's ranking of the most distinguished and influential scientists globally, among a pool of nearly 2 million brilliant minds. These numbers aren't just statistics; they are a testament to the journey of continuous growth and dedication. They tell me I'm on the right path, and they inspire me to keep pushing boundaries. But let me be clear: these accolades are not the ultimate goal. What truly drives me is the belief that each day, I can be better than I was yesterday. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, to contribute, and to make a meaningful impact. Science, in my view, should never just remain in the realm of theory. It should be a powerful force for good in our world. It should touch people's lives and make them better. Knowledge, when applied in practical ways, becomes a force for transformation. So, let's continue to strive for a world where knowledge doesn't just reside in textbooks but finds its way into solutions, innovations, and improvements that benefit everyone. Thank you all for your support, and I'm excited to embark on the next phase of this journey with your encouragement and prayers. Stay tuned for more exciting developments! 🚀💡🌍 #ScienceForGood #ContinuousLearning #ImpactfulResearch #TopScientists #StanfordRanking

Investing gurus are rockstars, but don't become a mindless fan. But how to leverage their brilliance? Why Not Blind Following? 1. Buffett loves value stocks, while Cathie Wood targets disruptive tech. Their strategies might not match yours. 2. What worked in the past might not work today. The landscape constantly evolves. 3. You miss the "why" behind their choices. Understanding their thought process is key. Become an Investment Apprentice: ✅ Analyze their portfolio companies. What trends tie them together? What problems do they solve? ✅ Anticipate the next move. What industries are ripe for disruption? Where's future growth likely? ✅ Learn from the greats, but tailor their wisdom to your risk tolerance and goals. By becoming a student of the masters, you can gain valuable insights. There's a lot they don't tell you when you're studying science, like the fact that there are actually WAY FEWER roles than can accommodate even a small fraction of those seeking careers in the fields of their study. I didn't have all the info, and went to extreme lengths to include myself in getting chemistry experience I knew I needed to gain confidence. The cost was 12 years of digging myself out of cptsd NOT working in science very much during that time. (Now, I'm back - and committed to transforming gatekeeping in science and innovation.) Here's a snapshot of yet another story, this time a PhD grad in 2023 who can't find a job - no, they didn't study liberal arts, she studied cell bio: "After earning her doctorate in cell biology at the University of Pennsylvania in June, Sierra Collins did what many freshly minted Ph.D.s. do — she went looking for a job at a biotech company. But what was supposed to be a straightforward search has turned into an odyssey. Collins has applied for more than 53 positions (and counting). Like a good scientist, she’s gathering data along the way and uses a spreadsheet to track each company’s size and therapeutic focus, as well as whether she was referred for the position and how far she made it through the application process. So far, those efforts have been unsuccessful. We need a slightly different policy to jumpstart a new era in science and innovation: --> Let's let the people who want to work in transformative tech and innovation GET TO WORK --> Let's revamp SBIR and STTRs to reflect the new realities of science, social justice, business, and collaboration, today --> Let's get early-career science people connected with life-long mentorship and coaching, which Prism14 has made strides towards by distilling the part of the management curriculum that all scientists and engineers, and the communities they are connected to, will certainly benefit from. #workforcedevelopment #economy #sciencejobs

Announcing our 2024 Research Challenge! Are you ready for an exciting event filled with emerging talent and diligent analysis? Look no further! We cordially invite you to witness graduate and undergraduate students showcase their in-depth analysis of Walmart to a panel of esteemed judges and industry professionals. The CFA Institute Research Challenge is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for students to learn from the best in the industry and compete with top finance programs from around the world. This annual initiative promotes the best practices in equity research among the next generation of analysts through hands-on mentoring, intensive training, and company analysis and presentation skills. Local CFA Institute volunteers work in conjunction with participating local universities to assemble teams of 3–5 business and finance students, both graduate and undergraduate. Each team works directly with a mentor to research and prepare an equity research report on a publicly-traded company. Each team's findings are locally evaluated by high-profile panels of heads of research, portfolio managers, and chief investment officers from some of the world's top firms. The final research reports and presentations will be evaluated locally, then local champions advance to regional competitions in the Americas, Asia Pacific, and EMEA, and then to the Global Final. Stay tuned to find out about our 2024 Participating Teams AND don’t miss out on the chance to support future charterholders (and encourage your alma mater if you are alumni of one of the participating schools!) 🗓️February 28, 2024 ⏰9:00 AM - 3:00 PM 📍Colorado PERA 1301 Pennsylvania St. Denver, CO 80203 🔗www.cfacolorado.org #analysis #coloradoundergrad #coloradoeducation #equityresearch #cfa #cfacolorado #cfainstitute #sales #management #financial #financialwellness #economics #investment #success #mentorship #leadership #coaching #inspiration #education #scholarship #access #financialaccess #support #financialsupport #research

I always said if I were to ever pursue my PhD it would be in Economics or something adjacent to Econometrics. After the academic labor required to obtain my Masters Degree, I was honestly content with not going back to school at all (LOL). But I find myself constantly intrigued by the local economy. It's one thing to study economic models in theory. It was quite another to actually work with business owners and study real-world consumer behaviors. Now that I've transitioned my tech career to a more senior role as a Product Manager, I think I finally have the bandwidth to begin preparing to apply for some of the most renowned Economic PhD programs the world has to offer. I plan to spend the next year studying local economies and working with real business owners with an emphasis on state, county, and even zipcode GDP. In the meantime, I'll continue to work as Tech Product Manager designing, developing, and managing amazing tech products. I'm really excited for the opportunity to feed my intellectual curiosity in a way that benefits the local economy. If you guys wana keep up with my latest tech products management projects or local economic studies, just follow my blog: https://lnkd.in/g65UkRY4
