"Wow" is an understatement for the divisional visit we had on yesterday. Our store#4692# was one of the stores in Mkt 498 to welcome a surprise visit from Executive VP, Kelvin Buncum, VP Operations, Eric Bushnell Sr Director People Operations, Carlos Sanchez AP Ops Jerry Jessica in realty and countless others that took the time to meet with our entire leadership team of team leads, academy trainers and associates to tour our store, ask us about our buisness, what's working, what's broken, what are we proud of and how could they help us fix our obstacles. Its no secret: *our store turnover is front and center *road construction on our main entrances that have continued over a year and a half and sometimes the construction has closed off 1 main entry point which wrecks havoc on sales when customers are inconvenienced, * remodel of a competitor grocery store, *2 additional new liquor stores opened *General store which opened up less than 2 miles from our location. But instead of focusing on things that I'm pretty sure they already were aware of, that entire team asked us what we were doing differently and applauded our efforts as Eric said "wow, you guys are swimming up stream" Now did we always get it right, were there some hit and misses, bumps in the road....ABSOLUTELY!!, BUT noone on this team at 4692 gave up, never said it was impossible Our motto: we never know unless we try- ask for forgiveness later. An associate snapped a pic after we sang Happy Birthday to Eric and today it seems like it was a dream. Still work to be done and we have our hands wrapped around it. Appreciative on a new outlook, course correction and above all making it happen.

**Jollyes reports record Christmas trading as it looks ahead to 100th store opening** Jollyes- The Pet People has reported record Christmas trading with a like-for-like sales increase of 13% in the five weeks to 31 December. Total sales grew by 25% in the period as the pet retailer continued to invest in value and its services. Jollyes delivered its strongest ever seven-day trading period in the final week before Christmas when it attracted almost 45% more customers than in the same week in the previous year. On a like-for-like basis, customer numbers were up by 26%. In addition to the festive trading figures, the retailer has announced that it will be launching new stores in Belfast Connswater, Newport and Rotherham in February and March. The shop in Newport will be Jollyes’ 100th location when it opens on 1 March. Since the beginning of 2022, Jollyes has doubled the size of its estate with the opening of 34 new stores. Don’t snooze or miss out on BIA Retailers and bed manufacturers have been urged to act if they want to win in the Bed Industry Awards. The deadline for retailers to enter the Small National Bed Federation Retail Champion of the Year for retailers with four stores or fewer; Large NBF Retail Champion of the Year for retailers with five to 20 stores; National Bed Retailer of the Year for businesses with more than 20 stores and Online Bed Retailer of the Year where at least 80% of sales are via the Internet is 5pm on Friday, 2 August. This is also the deadline for NBF members to enter the Bed Manufacturer of the Year and Supplier of the Year awards. ‘Winning an award sets you apart from your competitors and is an excellent opportunity to raise your company profile and highlight your achievements from the past year,’ says Tristine Hargreaves, NBF executive director. There are eight remaining JCPenney stores in the Bay Area - located in City of Antioch, City of Concord, City of Fairfield, California, City of Hayward, City of Pleasanton, City of San Bruno, City of San José and City of Santa Rosa. Recent closures in the Bay Area include the ones in Daly City and Newark, which both closed in 2019. Once upon a time, JCPenney was a staple of many shopping centers across the country. It was one of those big-box retail department stores that seemingly every suburb in America had — in addition to stores like Macy’s and Sears. JCPenney, at one point in 1974, had more than 1,900 total stores across the country, according to Forbes. For retailers like JCPenney and Sears, the glory days — during the 1960s through 1980s when every mall in the county seemed to have either store — now appear to be a distant memory of the past. In May 2020, JCPenney filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
