A breakthrough just happened with a client. Here's how we got there. 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿��� 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝟲 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁: ↳ Zero goals ↳ Zero structure ↳ Zero systems in place ↳ Surviving just to get to tomorrow 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝟭 & 𝟮: → Implemented workflow automation → Developed a customized pricing strategy → Defined company vision, mission, core values → Identified the founders' 3 high level goals to deconstruct. 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝟯: → Broke down 4 key metrics as a core focus for growth → Created company-wide Standard Operating Procedures → Developed a base level strategy guide for sales & marketing →"What Matters" session to identify the founder's personal goals 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 𝟰 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 - → Talking in numbers → Using data to track progress → Discussing a 2025 roadmap with each month broken down → Sharing the news of 2 key leads that would change the company's trajectory The thing is, they began discussing this with each other during our weekly meeting. I became the spectator for a moment, feeling so very proud of how far they've come in such a short time. This is incredible, but this isn't a surprise. Not only does this and more happen with every client I've worked with. But every founder of 5+ years has it in them to push the limits. Because those limits were self-created by the overwhelm that comes from not having systems. I am having all the feels today and celebrating these wonderful founders who commit daily to show up and do the work. It's not easy on purpose, which helps differentiate those who have a company and those who have a hobby.

𝗜 - Identify pain points and requirements • "What challenges are you facing that prompted you to seek a solution?" • "What solutions have you tried, and what were the outcomes?" 𝗦 - Scrutinize the decision-making process and competitor landscape • "Who are the key stakeholders involved in this decision?" • "What criteria do you use to make your final decision?" 𝗖 - Clarify success metrics and establish next steps • "How will you measure the success of our solution?" • "What are the next steps from your perspective?" What average sellers ask a prospect as the first question to kickoff a discovery: “Could help me understand some of most pressing challenges you’re facing today as it relates to X?” What elite sellers ask a prospect as the first question to kickoff a discovery: “Wanted to share something your CEO said recently that piqued my interest Greg talked about your acquisition of Z group as one example of the company’s ‘Doubling in Deutschland’ strategy to 2X growth by 2025. I’m curious to get your take, Linda, given the economic headwinds in your market How does your CEO’s strategic priority align to your objectives as VP Growth and how your team supports it?” That ought to spark a pretty good discussion. ……………………………………….. Do your homework. Show them that you know them right off the bat. Ask a thought provoking question. Come in with a relevant Point of View. Stop thinking departmental priorities and problems Start thinking org wide priorities and problems. Take your discovery to the next level.

This morning I had a great networking Zoom with Harald Brost, the growth sniper. For his new venture, we played with the idea of using a diagnostic tool as a first step in his growth advisory projects. When we had finished I thought, 'Hey, wait a minute, what about me? I could also have such a tool!' Two hours later. I present to you "CAT - Communication Audit for Teams". In my experience, it is exactly these four areas - persuasion, charisma, feedback, team - which drive successful team communication hence team success. I invite you to use CAT for your own team. Here's my first result indicator: 4-7: Are you sure it's the right team? 8-11: This team needs work! 12-15: Great job! With small adjustments, you can make it an even better team. 16-20: Congratulations! You have a fantastic team in place.
