Don’t stop asking: There is a wealth of resources waiting to support your queries, all you have to do is ask. Don’t shy away from embracing your curiosity. 3. Diversify your experience: Actively seek involvement in various projects led by different individuals. This not only broadens your skill set but also enhances your visibility within the organisation, opening doors to new opportunities. 4. 🌟 Exciting Announcement 🌟 I'm feeling both grateful and vulnerable as I share this post with you all. Recently, I had the honor of participating in the Nestlé challenge, where I poured my heart and soul into crafting a pitch that I believed in. Out of 106 participants, I was humbled to be chosen as one of the finalists to present my idea. Receiving the certificate for this achievement should have filled me with pride, but instead, I find myself grappling with a mix of emotions. Despite the recognition, I can't shake this feeling of plainness, as if I haven't truly achieved anything significant. Has anyone else ever experienced something similar? How did you navigate these emotions and find clarity and purpose in your accomplishments? I'm sharing this vulnerability because I believe that growth and success often come hand in hand with moments of doubt and uncertainty. And while it's easy to focus on the destination, it's the journey—the lessons learned, the challenges overcome, and the personal growth—that truly shape us. I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to some incredible individuals who have played a pivotal role in my growth journey and the success of pitching my idea in the recent Nestlé challenge. I remember my last year in Uni, I was so excited to graduate, but then I started to think about the future and wonder “Well… now what?” I had no idea what I was going to do or where to begin for my first job out of university. As a student who didn’t have experience in the corporate world, I realized how important it was for me to network and understand all the different functions involved in a Global organization. I joined Nestlé in 2018 in the Integrated Marketing Services department, and then I had the opportunity to recently move to a different role in the market, as an Inter Market Supply Supervisor. I remember one of my managers suggested employees and other managers that I could connect with to learn more about what Nestlé had to offer. These one-on-one conversations grew my interest in the company and set the expectations of the company culture. Also listening to employees’ stories about where they came from and how they got involved in Nestlé made it clear that this was a company that I wanted to pursue my career in and grow as a young professional. I was lucky enough to have different managers who were more of mentors, who guided me by coaching and provided me with meaningful work once realizing my potential. As I became more comfortable in both positions, my responsibilities grew.  The communication and collaboration skills I gained during this time has accelerated my learning journey. The work I was able to be a part of has also increased my leadership awareness. And I continue to learn every day by building new relationships and partnering with different functions. I can tell you that everyone will have a different story and that unique experience will be up to you. But for me, it’s always about the passion you put into your work and being excited to learn. I put in the time, and I was eager to understand and learn. I worked on developing myself as a leader by taking initiatives and being a problem solver. You know now we live in a fast-paced world, and I know for a fact that those coming into the workforce have expectations that a job will be given or presented to them. Well, I too had this expectation. But the best advice I can give is that it is not magic. It takes work, experience, education, passion, and commitment. So, just be authentic and do work that makes you excited! And most importantly, don’t be afraid of new challenges. I remember someone once told me that if you are not afraid and not asking questions, then the work you are doing is not challenging you and you are not developing. That sticks with me to this day, and I always live by that to better myself. Nestlé promises an inclusive, meaningful, and empowered work experience. When I sit back and think about my professional journey I realize how lucky I was to have great bosses and mentors. All of them guided me so well and taught me the values of life. None of them ever asked me to anything that is morally and ethically not right. Many a time I failed and couldn't achieve my targets. Yet my bosses always supported me to remain ethical, no shortcuts. This is not for one or two years, not for one or two bosses. But it happened the same way for thirty five years of my journey with Nestlé across functions, countries and continents. What does it mean? It reflects clearly the culture of the great organization Nestlé that I worked for. For many years I worked for the Infant Nutrition business which is heavily regulated and guided by a code of ethics. There also I have to say that I could see the genuine sincerity of the company management and top leadership in following the guidelines not only by letters but also in spirits. I learned from that. As I am penning down my memories, I thought of acknowledging this great culture of Nestlé and take this opportunity to deeply express my gratitude. Thank you to all my bosses and mentors who have guided me. A word for the young professionals here. Education is important for your career. But it is even more improtant to demonstrate the moral and ethical values of life for progression of your career. Stick to the basic values of life. It will make your professional life brighter even when you have a darker surroundings. I repeat I was lucky and blessed. Last Tuesday marked 1 year of my journey at HEINEKEN Vietnam. 🎉 And it has been a BLAST! 💥 Top 3 things that make my journey so wholesome: #GROWTH 🚀  Near 20 months ago, I left my lucrative career as a Recruitment Consultant in search of growth - as I felt I was stagnated and with no way to breakthrough. It took me a while, and some bruised knees, but I can confidently say I made it! HEINEKEN provides me with an environment that offers exciting challenges, encourages ideas, and the opportunity to get things done. I tackled so many interesting business cases with the help of resources, mentors, coaches, supports, and endorsement from my superiors. #ENJOYMENT 🍻 All my trademark smiles in the short clip probably said it all, it’s the first time in my career I felt a job could bring me such joy. To quote Freddy Heineken, our founder: “I don’t sell beer, I sell gezelligheid” (gezelligheid = good times!). Days in and out, I know that my work is bringing value to a supply chain that not only creates tons of jobs, but also ones that have created so much gezelligheid. I also received positive feedback from my candidates and colleagues, which made me feel appreciated and motivated. #CONNECTION 🤝 Last but not least, HEINEKEN is a huge company! I was always thrilled to work with so many talented, energized and ambitious people. Nothing is like working in an atmosphere where everyone is striving for excellence, for value and constantly aims to improve themselves. I collaborated with people from different departments and countries, and learned a lot from their perspectives and experiences. It's already past the first 365 days - but my journey just started!
