☝🏾 And another one! (in my DJ Khaled voice 😅) I have found my purpose in taking AI literacy into "overlooked" and often "forgotten" communities. Groups that we don't normally hear those in AI address their content toward. My main goal is to "make tech make sense by any CREATIVE means possible"-- for everyone! If we truly want a society that thrives in the 4th Industrial Revolution (some would even say we're entering the 5th Industrial Revolution), we can't leave behind some groups and focus only on others. Everyone should have the opportunity to rise together as we enter this new tech-driven age. Faith-based communities are an important part of our society and religious leaders and those in faith-based communities should have the opportunity to educate themselves and develop guidance on how they will interact with transformative technologies like AI. I am excited to share about the impacts of AI on religion at the launch of a Faith and Innovation Hub directed by Dr. HB Holmes in Lakeland, Florida. I hope to spark conversations and ACTION for how local churches, ministries, and communities can continue to make impact in the Age of AI. WHAT HAPPENS IN THE DESERT In an unsually energizing conversation about AI recently, I heard Rabbi Irwin Kula mentioned how we need a kind of Manhattan project-scale for virtue & character development. Then Bruce Feiler pointed out to him: do you know where the Manhattan project happens? In the desert. Then Rabbi Irwin almost jumped on his chair "Yes! In the desert, we are forced be with each other, to wander together. Indeed, the desert, literally & metaphorically, is the liminal space where damage, disruption and transformation can happen. Then he said: "in that space, *who do you choose to wander with* makes all the difference. Now we have no choice: we all have to all wander together." So much gratitude for the beautiful, energizing, exceptionally curated conversation about human flourishing in the age of AI by the phenomenal Dr. Keyun Ruan and team. Many food for thoughts for my research on identity evolution & transformation in the 2023 context. Reflecting on my participation in the WMF - We Make Future Conference on June 14 in Bologna 🌍, I had the incredible opportunity to delve deep into the intersections of artificial intelligence, consciousness, and the cosmos. I thank our moderator, Pierluigi Argoneto, for the warm introduction and for facilitating an engaging session. We explored the potential of artificial consciousness, discussed its ethical implications, and pondered how it could revolutionize our lives on Earth and our endeavors in space. In my speech, I examined the concept of artificial consciousness and its potential to surpass AGI. We discussed the importance of not just developing intelligence, but also nurturing creativity and understanding emotions, which are crucial for the next generation of AI. My team and I are committed to advancing research in this area, and we are collaborating with Stanford and Middlesex University to integrate psycholinguistics and emotional recognition into AI models. The discussions emphasized our collective future, showcasing how merging technology with human creativity can lead to unprecedented advancements.
