What is High-Level Disinfectant? High-level disinfectant is a type of cleaning agent that’s proven to be effective at killing certain pathogens, viruses, bacteria, fungi, spores, and other contaminants. It’s designed to eliminate a wide range of microorganisms that can cause health-related issues or contribute to an outbreak in the community. High-level disinfectants are considered the strongest form of disinfection available and, therefore, are often used in healthcare facilities or other settings where the risk of infection is higher than average. When to Use: -Use on semi-critical items. -Use on items that contact mucous membranes or non-intact skin but do not ordinarily penetrate them or enter normally sterile areas. -Use on items that hold, manipulate, or contact critical items What is an example of a high-level disinfection? High-level disinfectant products are typically a combination of bleach and hydrogen peroxide or a blend of peracetic acid and hydrogen peroxide. According to the CDC, some of the most common active ingredients in high-level disinfectants include the following: Peracetic acid. Hydrogen peroxide Greater than or equal to 6% Hydrogen Peroxide : Immersion contact times: 20 to 30 minutes Follow manufacturer’s instructions Advantages: Inexpensive, Fast-acting ,Environmentally Friendly and No residue Disadvantages : May be destructive to some metals 0.55% Ortho-phthalaldehyde (OPA) Immersion contact times : 10 minutes. Advantages:Fast-acting and No mixing needed. Disadvantages: Stains proteins Direct contact with the skin may cause temporary staining 1:10 Chlorine Bleach Solution contact times :10 minutes Advantages:Inexpensive and Fast-acting Disadvantages : Corrodes metal ,May destroy adhesives with prolonged soaking and Solution is to be made daily. #Pharmaceutical #Cleanroom #Disinfectant

We offer paraben free antimicrobials. As paraben is having potential to induce allergic contact dermatitis, and their assumed oestrogen-like activity, raised public health concerns about their overall safety. It is getting banned in most of the countries. The crystallization process of aluminum hydroxide can be improved by adding 1,2-octyl glycol properly in the Bayer decomposition process, and aluminum hydroxide with larger particle size and higher decomposition rate can be obtained. An eyelid scrub composition comprising polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), 1,2-hexanediol, 1,2-octanediol, and a pH stabilizing surfactant solution present in an amount effective to control the pH level of the composition between 5.5 and 7.5. The composition can further comprise moisturizers and foam stabilizers. The composition can be combined with a fabric pad for use as an eyelid scrub, where the fabric pad is pre-moistened with the composition and packaged for use. The composition may be applied to the eyelid scrub and rubbed to induce foaming. The composition is produced by preparing a modified Ringer's solution and adding 1,2-hexanediol, 1,2-octanediol, and an effective amount of one or more pH stabilizing surfactants. The mixture is then heated and allowed to cool before polyhexamethylene biguanide is added

Wow, a nasal spray that provides 6 hours of protection from SARS, Influenza A, RSV, and Rotavirus! Oh wait, it's not real 😞 According to this week's Warning Letter, this purported drug manufacturer of course didn't bother to register as a drug manufacturer and definitely didn't submit a New Drug Application. 😲 From their website, even the supposed science behind this miracle product quickly becomes suspect with just a quick Google search. The supposed active ingredient, Ethyl Lauroyl Arginate, is a surfactant used as an antimicrobial (ok, at least they got that part right) used to coat food and cosmetic packaging, and also dental surfaces. So, of course, it follows that you can easily extend that to coating the inside of your nostrils to protect against infections. Is it just us, or does this sound like applying a ceramic sealant to your car? Hey, maybe that would work too! 😀 That's sarcasm; DO NOT try to ceramic-seal your nasal tissue! Gotta love that they also created their own acronym, ELAH, for this ingredient rather than using the industry acronym, LAE. Maybe that's to throw off those pesky regulatory body Google searches? 🤔 Throw in a fake National Cancer Institute award and it becomes obvious that this isn't just a misinterpretation of the regulatory requirements. And just to make it worse, you can buy this unproven, unregistered, unapproved "drug" on the websites of Amazon, Target, Walmart, and Safeway. 😯 Given the FDA's comfort with sending Warning Letters to these companies as well, this story is likely not over. Frankly, there's not much to offer here in terms of consulting advice. But as always, if your product makes any sort of health benefit claims, you need to understand what rules may apply. QRx Partners is ready to help. 🤝 One last point, Rotavirus isn't an airborne virus. WHY IS A SEPARATE MANUFACTURING FACILITY REQUIRED FOR PENICILLIN AND NON PENICILLIN PRODUCTS Penicillins are a group of natural or semisynthetic antibiotics containing beta-lactam rings with 6 APA or 6 aminopenicillanic acid and are effective against bacteria. • Hypersensitivity to Penicillin Apart from giving many useful results in treating infections, penicillin is also harmful to those individuals who are allergic or sensitive to penicillin and produce minor skin rashes to life taking anaphylactic shocks. • The hypersensitivity reactions of penicillin may include: Skin Rashes, Asthma, Hives, Itching Eyes, Swelling of Tongue, Swelling of face, Difficulty in breathing, Runny nose, Fever and Anaphylaxis. Why Does Penicillin Manufacturing Require a Separate Facility? As we discussed in the above portion, penicillin’s are sensitizing agents and may trigger hypersensitivity reactions, although the ratio is very low as 10% but US-FDA and other regulatory bodies demand to manufacture these antibiotics in separate facilities to prevent cross-contamination. A separate manufacturing facility is a design that has: · Separate manufacturing area from the main plant for manufacturing of other products. · Separate HVAC System · Separate Equipment · Separate WorkForce · Separate Laundry · Separate Canteen · Separate Washrooms · How much distance should we maintain between penicillin manufacturing plant & other products plant? A rough estimation is that a distance of 75 meters or more than 75 meters should be maintained between plant to plant.
