Hello Everyone, sharing the unprofessional attitude of Small World Financial Services, and need suggestions to take the legal step. Last month, I was approached by the Small World Financial Services for Procurement Analyst position. During my interview cycles, I kept on asking about the company's financial strength where HR told me that the company was profitable, and even I heard the good feedbacks from some of my colleagues doing job there. After all the formalities, I was given the offer and was asked to accept it and submit the resignation acceptance letter within 2 days, so I did that. I almost served my notice period and completed the exit interviews and other formalities, and also the settlements were completed. I got a call from Small World Financial Services HR just 3 days before the end of my notice period saying, your offer is being terminated because of the restructuring in the company on a Global level. I told them that I had almost served my notice period and there was no room to go back, but they were repeating the same thing that they couldn't do anything. So now as I'm off from my previous company and looking for a new one, I want Small World Financial Services to compensate me for the loss just because of their unprofessional attitude. Looking back at the last 12 months, the percentage of internal vs external appointments into GM/CPO roles is now considerably in favour of external candidates, where from 2019 - mid 2022, we saw a large proportion of organisations elect to promote internal candidates. This is mostly happening in large organisations as they are seeking tried and tested GM/CPO’s to drive transformation rather than ‘step up’ candidates where there is some perceived risk. This is great news for the small amount of experienced GM/CPO’s who are now seeing some opportunities, however, the career progression for talented 2IC’s and other members of the PLT will likely be paused if this trend continues. If you find yourself in this position, your options are: - Wait for the transformation to be completed (generally 3 years) as those CPO's who are genuine change agents won't do BAU and will likely move on after the transformation is delivered and an internal succession plan in place (ie: you) - Move to the lead role in a smaller organisation where the salary or size of business wont attract an experienced GM/CPO. This is a step up as you will have full accountability for the function and will likely report into a CFO or COO. - Move to a business where procurement transformation is already happening under a genuine change agent CPO.
