Within the context of the 2D-BioPAD research program, funded by the European Union, Evnia has conducted an Online Survey to capture information from a diverse European audience, with a specific focus on gaining a deeper understanding of their needs, concerns, and barriers to acceptance regarding #AlzheimersDisease and PoC #IVD tools. The targeted participant groups were Primary and Specialized #HealthcareProfessionals, Patients, #Caregivers, Decision Makers, and #Biomarker Experts. By incorporating insights from both qualitative and quantitative sources, the questionnaire aimed to gather comprehensive data that would advance the project's goals and offer valuable insights into the subject matter. The analysis of the responses further shed light in the user-driven dimensions of PoC IVDs for early diagnosis and progression monitoring of AD providing useful input for the design and implementation of the 2D-BioPAD system. The Survey results were presented during the semester consortium meeting held in Barcelona on April 17th. Today I spoke at APTI. Our contributions in drug delivery technologies, cell therapeitics small diameter vascular graft and biomedical devices all shared as a snapshot. How industry- research network (RIN) helped in technology development how that become a key aspect of national roadmap all that discusssed. Hope that triggered spark in some students and young faculties. Once again thanking APTI for organising it. The key points are, (1) Identify key research areas. (2) Give emphasis to innovation. (3) Translate to technologies through collaboration. The key aspects listed after studying the scenario of Kerala may be adopted for advancing research.

South West wins share of £13.5m for engineering biology R&D projects 🪙🎉 New projects will use engineering biology to tackle challenges in the fields of health, environment, food production and sustainability. The £13.5 million funding is provided by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Technology Missions Fund and delivered by Innovate UK. The 48 projects cover a wide range of sectors and disciplines and involve private companies, academic institutions and partner bodies. One project is being led by Bristol-based Scarlet Therapeutics Ltd. Its UNIVERCell project is an engineered red blood cell line which could generate vastly improved methodologies for the production of red blood cells that can be engineered to treat many, currently poorly treated, human diseases. Based in Bristol, the science underpinning the company has previously been funded by: UKRI through THE BIOTECHNOLOGY AND BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES RESEARCH COUNCIL (BBSRC) and Innovate UK, Wellcome Trust, the NIHR (National Institute for Health and Care Research) and NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT).
