The German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK) has announced the allocation of up to 3.53 billion euros from the Climate and Transformation Fund for the years 2027 to 2036 for the procurement of green hydrogen, green ammonia and other derivatives from different importing regions. I am sure Australia will be one of those - most likely smaller volumes, but Australia will be one of the most politically and economically stable partners in that network.

Indonesia, the world’s largest exporter of thermal coal (IEA, 2022), is the most extensive and populous archipelagic country in Southeast Asia. The results of the coming presidential election in 2024 will affect the political position of Indonesia, particularly in relation to global climate commitments and associated negotiations, which should reflect justice principles in their implementation. Reconstructing Ukraine will require vast amounts of steel, which should be locally produced to stimulate economic regrowth. Investing $62 billion into Ukraine's green steel transition could create nearly double the economic growth compared to an equivalent investment in coal-based production. Key requirements are access to capital, clear climate policies and regional trade links.
