The beginning of Artificial Intelligence dates back to the 1950s, but its significance was truly grasped by people in the 1970s. Japan was the first to venture into this field, initiating the Fifth Generation Computer Systems project in 1981. This project outlined a 10-year program for the development of supercomputers. Product Solutions Physicist - Quantum Physics Ph.D., Experimental Photonics, Public Speaking, Technical Marketing
A very good talk for people thinking about 1000 qubits and beyond. We often hear about the challenges of building large qubit chips, but the truth is #quantumcomputing requires #quantumcontrol as well. And control has its own challenges (and opportunities). This talk explains what these are.
Throwback to a recent talk I gave at #Q2BSV23 in December, about controlling 1,000 qubits. I discussed everything from the challenges of building large-scale quantum computers, the requirements of effective hardware control, scaling to higher #qubit counts, and more. Watch the full talk here and let me know what you think! I'll be in Minneapolis in 2 weeks at #APSMarch if you want to chat about it. https://hubs.la/Q02lD2tt0 #QuantumComputing #QuantumControl #Quantum

The first internet router was invented in 1969 by a team led by Leonard Kleinrock at the University of California, Los Angeles. This router, known as the Interface Message Processor (IMP), was a key component of the ARPANET, the precursor to the modern Internet. The IMP allowed for the transmission of packets of data between different computer networks, enabling the creation of a decentralized network that could withstand failures in individual nodes. This invention laid the foundation for the development of the Internet as we know it today. #throwbackthursday #internetrouter

October 29th is #NationalInternetDay The observance celebrates the first electronic message that was sent from one computer to another in 1969. It was a very simple message, just the transmission of 'L' and 'O.' Today, it is hard to think of life without the use of technology. What do you appreciate the most about technology?

Faster Internet speed is good for transferring trillions of bits, but actually, many people don't know whether each of bits is transferred in a safe way.
