🎉 THE RESULTS ARE IN! Girl Talk Family, we are SPEECHLESS! Thanks to your support, and the generosity of the Bell Family Foundation, we have raised a grand total of $63,354 to continue delivering our transformational peer-to-peer programming in 2024. We continue to be amazed by how the Girl Talk Community shows up and stands alongside the young leaders we serve. We can't wait to share the impact of your contributions with you over the next year, but for now we are sending the most heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you. 💜 Together, we are truly changing the world! And the news keeps getting better... Because of the energy and momentum we started together, we are keeping our $21 for the 21 Million Girls fundraiser open through December 31st, so you can still join in on the fun this month and share with a friend (or two 😉)! Help us celebrate on the campaign page: givebutter.com/girltalk23

Love your eye ❤️ Ainak is a Silicon Valley nonprofit, in providing free eye exams and prescription eyeglasses to the under-resourced children in California. Ainak's mission is a powerful commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind in their educational journey due to the financial constraints of their parents or guardians in affording proper eye care. We believe in providing every child with the opportunity to achieve a 20/20 vision, recognizing that this not only supports their academic success but also cultivates the confidence necessary for them to thrive in life and pursue their dreams. The statistics further underscore the urgency and significance of our mission. A staggering 62 million Americans lack access to essential eye care and eyeglasses, creating a substantial gap in addressing visual health needs. Equally concerning is the fact that over 300,000 children commence their school year each September with vision impairment, underscoring the critical nature of our work. Alarming is the diagnosis of vision impairment in 1 in 3 preschool-aged children. This statistic emphasizes the crucial role Ainak plays in intervening at an early age to prevent not only immediate hindrances to learning but also to avert potentially severe eye health problems as these children mature.

As we (The New Philanthropists) get ready for our 2024 Board Mentors of Color programing, we're excited to release a new report in collaboration with Measure. Check out the story on Axios... "The best way to combat historical imbalances in nonprofit leadership is with mentor programs and transparent board recruitment processes, per a report to be released today by an Austin organization. Driving the news: The report, "Breaking Barriers: Bridging the Nonprofit Board Representation Gap," examines a cycle in which existing board members tend to recruit individuals similar to themselves. It was conducted by Measure, an Austin-based research and data firm, for The New Philanthropists. By the numbers: Since 2019, TNP has had more than 200 mentees and more than 40 mentors participate in its Board Mentors of Color Program, which supports leaders of color in navigating Austin nonprofit boards." https://lnkd.in/gtKh9uh2

Thank you to everyone who donated to our Giving Tuesday campaign yesterday! Connecting with other people that share similar passions, hobbies, professions or even problems can be incredibly empowering and motivating, and is always useful. If you want your community to become a powerful agent of change around a particular cause, or you want to connect important decision makers from different businesses or industries, getting together at community events could be the first step. Our role at the OMI Cultural Participation Project is to provide a space for healthy debate, knowledge sharing, new ideas and judgement-free self-expression. If we can do this from your donations, then our community will quickly attract other like-minded individuals or thinkers. If you want a community to grow organically, organize events that bring people together. We create a culture and atmosphere where individuals feel part of something bigger than themselves, because feeling included or invited can be extremely powerful. If our community members feel valued, they’ll naturally invite others to join, too. We are restoring, empowering, and serving in our neighborhood: this is your San Francisco District 11.

Emmy Award Winning Storyteller Producer | Director | Writer | Creative Services | Independent Contractor and Consultant
Why Does Video Storytelling Matter to a NonProfit? Because too many nonprofits remain "invisible" to those who need their support and services, to policymakers and funders, and to people in other communities who want to achieve similar results. CONSIDER THIS: Viewers retain 95% of a message when they watch it in a video, compared to 10% when reading it in text, as per Insivia. If the SandBoxx Team could wave a magic wand so they never heard any of these self-limiting comments again, they would. ✔️We are the best-kept secret with a huge impact in our area. ✔️We don't have staff or resources to tell our stories. ✔️We don't even know which stories to tell. ✔️Our funders don't support these communication strategies. You can get the SandBoxx Guide as a GIFT, "13-Tips Roadmap" to help nonprofits get their stories out into the world at: https://lnkd.in/gS_swE6Y Storytelling is a Superpower! #storytelling #story #nonprofit #nonprofitstrategy #community
We position you at the front of the transformation rooms, with a clear perspective, proximity to action, leadership and influence, and total engagement.
💖We LOVE LOVE LOVE championing our nonprofit friends and families. 📣We know stories help connect hands, hearts, and minds and create dedicated champions and donors for organizations that deliver impact. Our SandBoxx Team created a series of videos for Liz and the HOPE program. If you want to see them (and the incredible curriculum linked to impact), check out their site. https://lnkd.in/duzbzcTW
