It’s officially summer vacation for my boys, so I gave them advice to make the most of this vibrant season—but the advice also seems fitting to be successful in business too. ✅ Stay Curious: Summer is a time to explore new places and activities. Never stop seeking new knowledge and experiences. Curiosity drives innovation. ✅ Balance Fun and Responsibility: Enjoy the freedom of summer but remember that balance is key. In business, maintaining a balance between work and personal life encourages wellbeing and sustained success. ✅ Build Relationships: Use the summer to strengthen friendships. Similarly, in business, building and nurturing relationships are crucial for growth and collaboration. ✅ Embrace Challenges and Take Risks: Whether it's trying a new sport or tackling a tough business problem, get outside your comfort zone. Facing challenges head-on builds resilience and confidence. To my boys, and to all of you in the business world, I hope you embrace the warmth, the adventures, and the opportunities to learn and grow. These lessons are just as valuable in business as they are in life. What summer advice did I miss?
"Get a job" was always part of my advice
Love this Gina! I’d add as part of balancing fun and responsibility, to make sure part of that time is spent relaxing and recharging. The same goes for taking PTO and unplugging as much as possible to recharge at work, so that you can be your best!
My advice is to rest :) we tend to make big plans and fill our calendars with fun stuff. Then, by the end of summer, we need holidays to recover from the holidays. So plan some restful moments 😉
Such valuable advice, Gina. Your words truly resonate with the essence of personal and professional growth. Embracing curiosity, balance, relationships, and challenges not only enriches our summers but also propels us towards success in business. Thank you for sharing these insightful parallels between life and work.
As a parent of full grown ups, this is the best! Stay curious is a great starting point, and it's the key to the others. And as a parent, I was admonished to practice saying, "You were right. I was wrong." when it's true. And, ouch, it often is.
Create a post-it wall. Each day note 1 good thing. It's easy to forget what happened on June 25th at the end of August but these little post-its bring the memory with us.
These points really embody a motto I’ve been taking on recently — Safety, Kindness, Adventure. It’s about balancing the 3 ⚖️
Gina — as always, amazing advice! Love seeing the family and your pup too!! 🐾🥰
I think you forgot "have the CUTEST DOG EVER". OMG 🐾

1molove the advice. Would add: enjoy nature and everything our beautiful world has to offer and can’t be enjoyed from a desk or within a timetable; mountains, sea, wildlife. so many happy memories of hours and days spent building dams, fishing for tiddlers, picking blackberries, racing across the rocks and bodyboarding the waves with my brothers.
