I had a connecting flight through KL and my first flight was delayed, leaving me with about 40 mins to get from the domestic airport to international and get through immigration. One of the flight attendants said the other flight should wait for us, as many onboard had the same connecting flight. I decided to trust the flight attendant, not to rush, worry or stress about it. There were numerous people running off the plane in a fluff and pushing others to get through. As they were racing across the airport, I casually walked and took in the beauty of KL airport. Interestingly, we all made it to the gate and got on the flight. This reminded me of a few things: 1. The power of trust and choice. In this instance, I trusted the word of the flight attendant and chose not to stress. Worst case scenario, I’d be put on another flight later. 2. The power of creating certainty by asking questions. If I hadn’t asked the flight attendant about the next flight, I may have also been running across terminals with cortisol racing through my veins. 3. The classic tortoise and the hare. We all move at different speeds and achieve success in different ways. Time should not dictate where we should / shouldn’t be in terms of our careers. Most of us get to that flight eventually… Sometimes it takes removing the noise of life to remember some important lessons #travel #learning #reflections
