*Nanocosmetics vs conventional cosmetics for skin care* As the industry matures, we now have many advanced and effective treatment methodologies. One such is nanocosmetics. These are personal care products that contain nanoparticles or nanocarriers. They have a substance entrapped inside, usually a lipid nanocarrier or a polymeric nanocarrier. Nanocarriers are present in sunscreens, moisturizers, perfumes, anti-ageing skin care products and hair care products. The nanocarriers present in sunscreen have increased the formulation efficiency and enabled the controlled release of active ingredients. This leads to enhanced protection from the ultraviolet rays. Similarly, they increase the moisturizing effect in moisturisers and so on. Although a relatively new technology, it has promising benefits in cosmetic dermatology. Here is a list of the benefits of nanocosmetics when compared to traditional cosmetics. ⭐ Controlled and targeted delivery of nanocarriers for effective results  ⭐ Better skin penetration of the product  ⭐ Increased efficiency of the cosmetic product  ⭐ Better drug-holding capacity While the new technological advancement is being explored for therapeutic purposes, their disadvantages have also been researched.
