Vanguard’s final 2023 Day of Impact in the State of Texas had special meaning for my friend & colleague Rashanda Perryman who grew up in the same Southwest City of Dallas community where our event took place. Social impact leaders with lived experiences and professional backgrounds that provide unique insights into the neighborhoods their company’s philanthropic programs serve often results in a more community-centered approach with greater impact. Proud to partner with Rashanda and the Community Stewardship team - Jessie Heckman Azanique Rawl, MS and so many fantastic company leaders - Joel Dickson George Centeno, MBA, CFP® Jacob Webster Nannette L. Sabo MBA, MSA who worked to brighten the facilities at the W.I.S.E. Academy in Cedar Hill for their children and families. Together we built an amazing new plaground, gaga pit, flower boxes, picnic tables and painted beautiful murals. Thank you Tobitha Holmes and the phenomimal staff at W.I.S.E for hosting the Vanguard team on Saturday, I can’t wait to see the pictures of the kids reaction this morning as they arrive at their revitalized center! Vanguard recently wrapped up another incredible All Cans on Deck (ACOD) campaign, a global program aimed at reducing hunger and food insecurity by supporting regional hunger relief hubs in each of Vanguard's sites. Our crew raised nearly 1.6 million meals for our community partners and totaled almost 10,000 volunteer hours. Approximately 18,000 items were donated just in the United Sates.
