In this season of graduations and new beginnings, this article reads like a Commencement Address, in a good way. A clear call for a transformed approach to what being a Telco means, just as a clear call to new Graduates to envision and create a future we can all be proud of.

Although this statement in the GSMA report statement is focused on Europe and a decade of unsustainable spectrum pricing on 4G and 5G. It could be equally true for Asia and Oceania. The digital advantage and opportunity are being put at risk due to old-fashioned European spectrum pricing strategy for 5G and 6G, that means mobile operators, especially the 2nd and 3rd market size players, are increasingly UNSUSTAINABLE. In the developing and fast-growing economies of Asia we need forward-looking communication regulatory and treasury policy. Fortunately for us, there are some!
