I am so thankful to FORVIS for closing our offices last week so we could enjoy deep rest. My rest took the form of umpteen hours of k-drama binging and a collective 14 hours of Lego-ing, as well as spending time with my family and cooking and baking and other things that bring me joy. The fruits of last week’s labor may look different from my normal work products, but the principles practiced are the same: 1- We can do hard things. 2- Pay attention to detail. 3- Documentation is KEY. 4- Trust the process. 5- Get comfortable in the mess, because the middle steps rarely look like the end result. 6- What looks like a just another block might be an opportunity, if you can reimagine it and get it in the right spot. 7- Don’t forget a piece. Inclusion is key to the strength of any structure. 8- When the hours are long, celebrate small wins to keep going. What sorts of activities bring you joy? What parallels can you find to your work? If there aren’t any, you might be doing the wrong work!

Come join me at Wayve! 4 weeks, 4 thoughts and Foresight... 4 weeks ago I started at Wayve in the wonderful city of London. I wanted to share a few quick thoughts 1.) I joined the Automotive Group at Wayve, I am part of Wayve Software. I don't see divisions, I see people reaching out 2.) Starting at a company like Wayve can be like "drinking from a firehose"; except here there are concrete goals setting everyone up for success. Learn, there is a lot to learn, but figure out the how and then run with it 3.) Success: it is a shared; Individual, team, and company goal. I came to Wayve thinking there was a lot I could do, I am seeing how much support I have to do even more than I thought would be possible. 4.) Maybe it's the dogs in the office, or the great lunches, or England came in 2nd in the Euro Cup, I am not sure, but the atmosphere in the office is always positive and collaborative. (Actually, it is none of those things it is just that the people are good... interested and invested in the work we are doing) Finally, foresight: If you find a place here at Wayve you will have one of the best work experiences of your life. https://lnkd.in/eDB6KS66

Meet the #TraffixCrew - Shannon Cotton, Traffic Management Operative Q: Where did you start? A: I found out about the role through one of my friends who works at Traffix. My initial induction and training were very thorough and enjoyable. I learned pretty quickly what the company ethos is and what would be expected of me to maintain the high standards Traffix expect. I am relatively early into my career at Traffix, but my impressions so far are very favourable. Q: What is your role? A: I am part of the team of Traffic Management Operatives that supports one of our large client contracts for highway repairs and improvements. I arrive at the office for my shift, find out where I will be and what the job entails, then the van is loaded with the equipment required and we drive to the job. Once there I will set the job up, carry out whatever the duties are for the day, then it’s a case of taking the job down and back to the office. Q: Where do you see myself next at Traffix? A: There is a lot more to Traffic Management than I first thought. There are so many opportunities to progress at Traffix, it would be nice to keep moving up the ladder and build a career here. I have already started to progress through the ticket levels which helps your earning potential. Q: Why Traffix? A: I chose Traffix because of the professional way in which the interview process was handled and the career path was very interesting, plus everyone was really nice from the moment I walked through the door. I would say the most enjoyable part of the job is the people I work with, being a Traffic Management Operative is a good job, but the team makes it even better. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD24 #TrafficManagement #Careers #CareerOpportunities

Imagine yourself standing in front of two doors🚪 Behind the first door is the road well-travelled, it’s well-groomed and has lots of signposts, there aren’t many twists and turns, and you’re pretty much guaranteed an easy journey. But you already know where this road is going to take you. What about door number two? Well, what’s behind it is limited only by the reach of your imagination. If you choose to take this path, you can expect it to be wild and unpaved. You’ll have to be a true trailblazer. In return, you’ll go down in the history of Giacom as the one who created the road, instead of just following it. People will say that, instead of standing idly by and watching others pass before you, you made things happen. Behind door number two is your career, reputation, and a person of great courage. Which door do you want to take? As we evolve and grow our undisputed position in the channel (we're modest too!) we're seeking new talent to join our 780 strong team. Fancy joining us? The only times I've been hired for Jack-of-all-trades work, it's been for garbage. 🗑️ People who have real work for you to do want you to do ONE THING extremely well and become a part of their TEAM so they can become more efficient and WIN! 🦸♀️🦸♂️ I do one thing. I edit video. 🧙♂️ I'm not doing any graphics for you. I'm not filming anything for you. Nothing. I see these posts where people are advertising that they have skills in like EIGHT different disciplines and you're telling on yourself that you aren't any good at ANY of them. Somebody told you that the way to get a job is to know a bunch of different things. Except that's how you get a job with scrubs who don't know what they're doing. THEN you do some garbage work for them and then you can't figure out why you can't get hired by real people. What you need to do is get REALLY GOOD at ONE THING and then do that for SOMEBODY IMPORTANT who will tell SOMEBODY ELSE IMPORTANT that you guided them to a WIN and then you will get business via word of mouth.
