The issue with much of innovation is whether it can withstand the assault of the trial lawyers. Whether it be driverless cars or automated surgeries, technology can be hugely beneficial but a few bad outcomes can allow lawsuits to bankrupt good companies.
Generative AI How long will the battery last? Has it certified by authorities like FDA? Two universal and basic elements to make the machine work are: battery and metadata. Without battery, the machine won't move. Also, battery accounts for 40% of the total cost of an electric machine, e.g., electric car. Metadata is an enabler. It's a digital content, NOT a technology. It's like a treasure map, curated by human for treasure hunting. Without metadata, NO data can be found/retrieved, even by the most advanced technologies, like AI, quantum computers, etc. Thus, the machine won't be able to do even a simple task like to move and to sense the situation. https://lnkd.in/g-aJFnXR AI, e.g., ChatGPT, can't do what we are doing in patent data analytics NOW. 'perform' is not the same thing as successfully complete, where the patient is relieved of the issue, and no further issues present from the surgery.
The tele-surguery concept was a famous topic in late 2000, so definitely the internal robotic surgeries is far advance now than before, regulating this industry is a matter of time..
