Central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) are digital versions of a country's fiat currency. They're reshaping how money is issued and used, and could significantly alter transaction privacy. 👀🔒 Unlike cash, which offers inherent privacy, CBDCs may restrict anonymous transactions to small purchases or eliminate them altogether based on current proposals. With the compounding issues of privacy, security, and inclusion still to be addressed. It’s imperative that citizens become educated, aware, and involved in the future of digital fiat currency.
