You know you are working with some A star players, when you are inspired to copy your leadership's post style, thanks Christian ;) So here is my take on the NEXT Pharma Summit last week. Reflections if you will. 👓 The core themes that emerged for me is that there is still a lot of discussion around #omnichannel in pharma (yes its 2024) and how we are struggling to actually realise this holy grail as an industry. It is not for a lack of knowledge around the topic, or even trying, but more for definition, prioritisation and lack of execution of fundamental basics that we are stuck on loop. Many presenters covered this theme and showed their journey to date. #GenerativeAI as you can imagine has a part to play in the themes being discussed, the "grief curve" was a great analogy of where we are at shared from Marco Andre 🤖. Aptly named "The Hype is Gone, It's time to grieve". Even Barck Obama made an appearance! #Changemanagement was something discussed at length by a number of speakers, however for me Henriette presentation for Ferring Pharmaceuticals really brought home the value of condensing time lines with the art of being impatient and the value to execute with excellence and timeliness. #content my favourite topic, was covered by Dr. Michael Kurr and he showed us a build on exactly how as an organisation we can rise to the challenge of building scalable custom content, and as this was a follow up to last year, it was great to hear the insights as well as some of the learnings first hand. Vanitha also shared her take on where Novo Nordisk is heading in this space with the blue print discussion with fellow speakers Gareth, Huw, Shivani from UCB and Astellas Pharma in their presentation titled "Design, Deploy, Repeat. Pharma's ultimate blueprint for content creation that matters. Medical and Commercial functions played nice (for the most part, even with the oxford debate) and everyone agreed, that more cross collaborative working was the name of the game. Not to look at areas where we cant share, but areas where we can , one of the speakers called this the "cockpit" view, what metrics and KPIs can we all align on for better patient outcomes. Alyssa shared how Teva Pharmaceuticals are using data science to transform AI insights and how #capabiliites are being built at scale with programmes such as Teva MS Copilot, and the Data and AI academy which covers things like prompt engineering. Finally, failure was addressed as a success metric, a place to grow and learn, and who knows even win an award, thanks for sharing Julien Pahud from Eli Lilly and Company and normalising the learning curve. So as you can see a jam packed event, some great presentations and some amazing conversations with some very clever people who are here to move the dial in pharma. I haven't even covered the academy stage sessions, that's for another post. Till NEXT time.. Content that Connects ❤️ #EPISTA #event #nextpharma
