🌟Navigating My Flipkart Experience for AE-I role: From Application to Advancement!🌟 Online Assessment: Applied through the job portal and completed an assessment focused on mathematical logic, programming, DSA and OOP MCQs. Demonstrated my problem-solving skills, setting a solid foundation for the journey ahead. Technical Interview (60 mins): Tackled two medium-difficulty DSA problems, delivering three efficient solutions for the first and two distinct approaches for the second. Received valuable feedback, emphasizing the importance of simplicity in problem-solving. Managerial Round (75 mins): Discussed recent projects, internship experiences, and fundamental concepts of problem solving. Earned compliments on my personality and skills, which boosted my confidence. Engaged in in-depth discussions about my resume and learning experiences. Hiring Manager Round (30 mins): Had an insightful conversation with HR, discovering more about Flipkart's dynamic company culture. Enjoyed a positive and supportive interaction, reflecting the company's values. 🎉 Result: Selected! The entire hiring process was an enriching learning experience, mirroring real teamwork. The major events which happened in my life in 2023 🚀 - - Did a Software Engineer (SWE) internship at Microsoft, Bengaluru. 💻 - Got the pre-placement offer (PPO) after completing the internship. 🎉 - Finally qualified for Flipkart GRiD 5.0 round 2 after 3 attempts. Made a cool project involving AI in the fashion industry. 🌐 - Got the chance to take the online assessment (OA) for the Flipkart SWE internship + FTE opportunity. (Unfortunately, couldn't clear it) 😔 - Gave the online assessment (OA) of Amazon for SWE internship. (Solved all the questions, but still got rejected) 🤷♂️ - Continued solving DSA questions on Leetcode despite getting the FTE offer. Received the 100 days badge. (Never let the habit go) 🏋️♂️ - Recently started exploring Low-Level Design patterns (LLD). 🤓 - Started Speed Cubing after a long break. Attended 2 competitions this year and did quite well. 🧩 . . . The SWITCH. 🫡 It officially marks the end of my 18-month internship at Harness. Yup, 18 months 🫠. It was an experience worth the time period. I had a lot of takeaways from this experience and would like to let some of them out on how my experience has been so far - from being an intern for 16 months to a contractor for 2 months. 🤷🏻♂️ How did I land in Harness? - Apparently on the documents, this is referred to as campus placed but I had to go through competitive examinations from a 3rd party vendor and then again sit for OA and then the interviews. If you figure out the vendor from my previous posts, avoid joining through them. ❌ 📈 How was my technical growth and how is it different compared to other startups? - From a PR filled with comment reviews to handling major features to being the only SDET responsible for an entire product, you can get an idea. People are very supportive here be it workwise and personally. 🫂 - From my peers' experience in other startups, I have concluded that Harness allows you to explore literally every part of the product and lets you contribute where you feel like. The managers support you for the first 3 months and then hold you accountable for the rest of the work you do. That mere "accountability" is the key thing that develops you from an undergrad to an engineer. 👑 🏔️ How was the work-life balance in Harness? - Weekends off. One Friday off every alternate month. The usual holidays. WFH setup. No meeting on Thursday. Recognized by Inc. as One of the Best Workplaces 2022. It's literally 20 days of work in a month. 🥳 😭 Do I hold any grudges/hatred for my colleagues in Harness? - Absolutely not. ❤️ I deeply value the people I have met there who contributed to my career growth in any aspect. There are a few people who are very close to my heart now and I wish I get a chance to work with them again. 🫂 🚀 Well onto some new beginnings now. The Harness has been of major value to me. And sorry to those batchmates who advised me and made sarcastic reviews about me joining Harness as an SDET. I know my growth affects your mental well-being but I can't help, you had the wrong guy in your batch.
