It was an honor to host U.S. Congresswoman Becca Balint at SERAC, our manufacturing arm based right here in Vermont! Based up the road from our distribution center, SERAC manufactures our Gardener's line of cedar raised beds, many of our premium grow lights, and a host of other products. Thank you to Becca and everyone else who supports local businesses and local manufacturing. It's a unique strength that helps make us who we are, but we couldn't do it without all of you!

We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Dan Jacobs to Director of Product. Since joining Gardener’s as a Divisional Merchant in 2016, Dan has been a key member of our Merchandising team. In his new, expanded role, Dan will be developing portfolio strategies that will help us achieve our ambitious goals for omnichannel growth – and product strategies that will bring joy to gardening. We are excited to announce the promotion of Shawn Christianson to Director of Marketing. Shawn joined Gardener’s Supply Company as an Analyst in 2018 and quickly became an invaluable employee-owner. In his new role Shawn will lead our talented Marketing team to accelerate the acquisition of new gardening customers. Gardener’s Supply Company is proud to announce our new CEO, Rebecca Gray, who assumes the role following the retirement of Cindy Turcot, who had held the position since 2020. Rebecca brings nearly 20 years of experience in the e-commerce space. She joined Gardener’s Supply Company in 2018 as Vice President of Merchandising, eventually overseeing all of the company’s Merchandising and Marketing activities. During Rebecca’s time at the company, Gardener’s Supply has seen record growth, greatly expanding their digital footprint, increasing new product development, and expanding to five retail garden centers in Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. Rebecca is excited to continue the company’s growth path, while maintaining the unique company culture and founding mission. “Gardener’s has an incredible culture. Being 100% employee-owned and a certified B Corporation, we are motivated to make a difference, and use our business as a force for good,” Rebecca says. Outgoing CEO Cindy Turcot was a founding employee of Gardener’s Supply and previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer. She worked closely alongside Rebecca over the past year to share her deep institutional knowledge and create a seamless transition for the company. Cindy is recognized as a leader of the employee ownership (ESOP) movement nationwide, having helped found the Vermont Employee Ownership Center and serving as Chair of both the New England and subsequently the National ESOP Association. Cindy will continue to contribute to the success of the company as an Advisory Board Member.

Gardener’s Supply Company recently partnered with Prides Corner Farms for our second annual Plastic Pot Take-Back Day at our Garden Centers. On June 24th, customers dropped off their #2 and #5 plastic pots for recycling at our retail locations in VT, NH & MA. We collected 27 pallets of plastic pots that will be transported to East Jordan Plastics in Michigan where they will be recycled and turned into new pots for horticultural use! Thank you to the gardening community who turned out to donate their pots and keep them out of landfills! ♻️

The recent historic flooding in Vermont was devastating and unprecedented, but with the realities of climate change, extreme weather is something that gardeners everywhere will have to be more prepared to deal with.
