I started my first business when I was 12 years old. I walked door to door recruiting kids for my day camp and collecting $1 per day per kid. I re-invested my profits in my next venture and lost all my money, but that's a story for another time. The thing I miss from those days is the rush each time I collected another dollar. There was nothing more motivating. We live in a different world today, where our hard earned work turns into numbers changing in our company bank account at the end of the month. And sometimes it's really hard to feel progress when you're deep in the grind and it the end of the month is far. We recently set up a new Slack channel called #bling_bling that automatically blasts a message to the entire company in real time when we generate revenue. Game changer for our team- especially as we transitioned to growth mode this year and set aggressive internal revenue targets. Highly recommend to any founders/ team leaders here who want to orient their team towards revenue growth.
As Frida’s first ever employee, I can testify that this system works! 🤣
I remember the early days of Iorio Gelato when I was a teenager and each cup sold was such a rush and so exciting! Love the idea for the slack channel to celebrate the growth (and customer impact!)
When we feel successful, it spurs further success.
You are a true inspiration!
