What is the essence of Tuscany? And where its heart? by Keith Grainger For the art lover Tuscany has everything, indeed it is everything. Florence, a city-state that made fabulous wealth from the manufacture and trade in textiles, was the birthplace of the Renaissance. The wealth of art and culture can leave today's unprepared visitor overwhelmed: Botticelli, Caravaggio, Michelangelo, Titian and Vasari tear at every emotion. For the music lover there is Mascagni, Rossini and, of course, Puccini, described as the last romantic in the history of opera. In La Bohème Tosca and Madama Butterfly instruments play at limits of their range and singers reach deep into their hearts. But perhaps it is his aria 'O Mio Babbino Caro' from the one act opera Gianni Schicchi that, thanks to the genius of A Room With A View producer Ismail Merchant, paints a thousand images of Tuscany that will never fade. For the wine lover there is Brunello di Montelcino, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, Vernaccia di San Gimignano and the 'Super Tuscans'. Indeed, its wines are perhaps the very essence of Tuscany. But the heart of Tuscany lies between the rival cities of Florence and Siena; the hilly vineyards of Chianti Classico. San Felice Wine Estates. There can be no better producer to reveal the heights that Chianti Classico can reach, and the vision of Gran Selezione than this sublime estate, which lies close to the south-east border of the appellation, a few kilometres north of Siena. At the heart of the estate is the BORGO SAN FELICE RESORT Relais Chateaux - an entire medieval hamlet, which has been painstakingly and sympathetically transformed into a 5 star resort Relais & Châteaux. The wine estate and Borgo are two complementary operations, both focused on quality, that inhabit this wonderful location. It is here (Siena), eating ravioli and sipping 2018 Poggio Rosso Gran Selezione, that I have chance to discuss with general manager Carlo De Biasi the direction San Felice will take in the coming years and how it will continue to thrive. Carlo notes, "A future path that is certainly not easy also due to ongoing climate change which requires us to find suitable viticultural and oenological models in a changed context. We have therefore decided to undertake with determination the path of regenerative viticulture which we believe is the suitable vineyard management model in this context." https://lnkd.in/dcvwr6dN

EMBRACING ETERNITY: EXPLORING CONVIVIALITY IN ROMAN ART HISTORY Post 7/7 by Natalie Hayllar, APD Conviviality, the celebration of social gatherings and feasts, has been vividly depicted in Italian art for centuries. Banquet scenes and market gatherings adorn frescoes and paintings, offering a glimpse into the social life of ancient Rome and revealing the intricate connections between food and society. Roman art often portrayed scenes of joyous drinking and dining, reflecting the social status of the subjects and the time they lived in. Depending on the depicted foods and ingredients in the painting indicated whether the setting was noble or humble, and according to Laura Offeddu of Gustolab (personal communication, June 26 2023), provides valuable insights into the timeline and history of ingredients entering Italian cuisine and the culinary identities of the time. Sharing wine is also a recurring theme in Italian art that symbolises the spirit of conviviality that transcended all social classes (Montanari, 2015). According to Capatti (2003), food depicted in Roman art was more than just sustenance; it reflected the Empire's prosperity and the deeper meanings attached to communal dining. Observations in the Gallerie Nazionali Barberini Corsini, Rome, demonstrate examples of sumptuous wealth, lavish banquets and more humble lively conversations among food vendors at markets. The incredible fresco of the Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci, at Cenacola Vinciano Milan, depicts one of the most famous banquet scenes in history. However, the mood may not have been convivial at this banquet, with many conflicting and controversial theories about what this renowned banquet scene represents. Regardless, art, conviviality, and culinary history are forever captured in the paint of these incredible artworks. True Story: I was introduced to Troy Bonde back in the early Fall of 2022 as he was finishing up at USC Marshall School of Business. And according to his accounting professor, he "was an ok student and he occasionally showed up for class", but had an idea to market a pasta sauce and asked if I would meet with him as a favor. #pastasauce! Never one to turn down Harris, I thought this was an opportunity to save another aspiring food entrepreneur from plummeting to the depths of despair in what is a brutally competitive category dominated by deep promotion spending on largely mediocre brands. But then I met Troy and Winston. And I saw the Sauz packaging. And I tasted the product. And I listened to their strategy. And I loved the positioning. And I knew this was different. They know how to do this. This brand has #ethos. Their key innovation is #emotion. So, having been on this journey with Troy and Winnie from Jar #1, I'm confident we're witnessing a sea change in the category being led by Sauz. They're not disruptors; their connectors. As my friend Craig Dubitsky would say, they've made a product that PEOPLE (not consumers) are FALLING IN LOVE with. They've struck a nerve with Sauz and have laser-focused on intentional and crisp execution. The product speaks for itself. Oh, and it's ok to cut class every now and then for your #sidebusiness . #entrepreneurs #expowest2024 #patternrecognition #flavor #genzmarketing Palm Tree Crew Investments #leadwithlove Dwight, Mitchell, Monika, Tim, John.
The Sauz team is heading to Expo West! Find us in North Hall, level 100 at Booth #N1218. Swing by, hang out & get sauced with us at Sauz Trattoria. 🍅

What is an #original? Those who are not inspired to do things just for status or for show. It's those who are unapologetically themselves, driven by the innate need to #create and desire to be expressive. They understand that the creative process is a cause within itself, built on #curiosity, #collaboration, and #commitment to a higher purpose. They understand that life-long #learning naturally brings forth new #perspectives, and these perspectives must be birthed into the world. In this campaign, we capture and celebrate this essence of originality through #Espolòn #Tequila. #Salud 🍸
Espolòn Tequila Unveils “To the Bone”, the brand’s first-ever global campaign, which celebrates unapologetic originality. The campaign is shot in the inspiring and creative hub of Mexico City, to highlight the contemporary vibrance of Mexican culture that is at the core of the brand. “To the Bone” speaks to those who are driven by a desire not for status, but for originality and self-expression. It also marks a historic moment as the brand celebrates a 25 year anniversary and international expansion and growth. #CampariGroup #DrinkResponsibly

Fusion of arts. I had the opportunity to participate in a visit to some wine cellars that had recently embraced design. I assure you, it's an experience worth trying, not only for wine lovers, as it often transcends design and ventures into art, hospitality, and sometimes into a world of personalized services. Feudi di San Gregorio is a case in point, offering the chance to explore Italian wine production in an environment shaped by design and art collaborations, making waves in both the national and global wine landscape. The company's vision and determination have enabled Feudi to surpass the boundaries of a conventional winery and become a cultural reference point. This underscores their belief in the value of curiosity to positively influence the territory and its future through a sustainable, cultural, and aesthetic vision. 🙌 What’s your take? # 280 DESIGN, Italy 👉 More contents on our website, the link to the featured news is in the first comment below. 🎯 If you want to learn more about our transformative approach to generating growth (yes, what we call innovation marketing!), feel free to write us privately.
