Salespeople and account managers are often seen as separate entities in the business world. However, the truth is that both roles are essential for a successful sales career. While a salesperson's job is to close the deal and move on, an account manager's job is to nurture accounts and ensure the best possible customer experience. An excellent account manager doesn't just aim for one sale and move on. They strive for long-term relationships with customers and aim to grow with their business. Good account management skills are essential for repeated sales and customer loyalty. In my opinion, one person can easily excel at both roles. There's no need for two separate people when one person can bring in the sale and provide top-notch account management. Mastering both skills can take your career in sales to the next level, regardless of the industry you're in. So, are you the person who customers think of every time they need to make a purchase? Or are you just a salesperson whose name is quickly forgotten?
