The center consists of children and adults who mainly have mild to severe cerebral palsy/autism from ages 4 up until 30s. Did you know that 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝘀𝘆 (𝗖𝗣) is the leading cause of disability? In most cases, it affects one's ability to sit, stand or walk without support. I was drawn to this particular home since it isn't my first encounter with special needs children. My friend Frida Mumbe has a son living with cerebral palsy. Through her, I've experienced firsthand how children with special needs depend on their primary caregivers for everything. This is a cause dear to both of us. We appeal for donations from well-wishers that will go towards lessening the caregiver's burden of provision and putting a smile on the children's faces. They need of diapers, dry foodstuffs such as rice and cereals, clothes, toiletries, utilities such as electricity, clean drinking water, medicine, and therapy. Want to visit with us? Helping the homeless Supporting people in need during the Christmas period This winter, over 131,000 children will spend Christmas without a place to call home. Lily, a mum of two from Bristol, knows only too well how that feels. A qualified nurse, she and her family were served a Section 21 ‘no fault’ eviction, and given just two months to find a new home after their landlord decided to sell. Unable to find a property to rent, she and her children spent months being moved from one B&B to another. None of them had a kitchen in which Lily could cook for her family, and many were miles from the children’s schools. This is not a home, but it’s the reality for thousands of families in emergency temporary accommodation. Shelter research has found that being placed in temporary accommodation (TA) disrupts every aspect of family life, with 47% of families with school-aged children being forced to move schools as a result of living in TA. To find out more about how you can help, turn to page 18 of the latest Winter edition. #educationchoicesmagazine #educationcornerpodcast #educationmatters #helpingthehomeless #awareness #support #donate #heplingothers #homelessnessawareness #diversity #inclusion

Unless you see it up close, you can’t imagine how difficult it is for a parent to reunify with their kids who are in foster care. If you do see it up close, you know that parents are on their own after the system swoops in and removes their children. I have been a part of that system for over 30 years and made the decision to break out and create change through a new, brain-based case management model. With nothing but the proceeds from selling my camper, my husband and I started 4Sisters. Our Permanency Primers©️are experts in child welfare and have been extensively trained in this coaching model that is making a difference. How do I know it’s making a difference? Because parents are referring OTHER PARENTS! We are still new so the evidence gathering, but we see it every day. Through the recent award of an innovation grant by the Florida Deparment of Children and Families, we are evaluating the new model. We are restoring hope with every contact, which averages 10 per month per parent. As the saying goes, hope floats! What parents have now is this dismal statistic: less than 50% of children removed from their parents are reunified within 12 months as state and federal laws requires. Every bit helps us continue to move our new case management model move forward! Please INVEST in the future of families by INVESTING in us! ©️🩷

Foster and adoptive families play a crucial role in providing safe and loving homes for children in need. Here are some ways we can support them: -Offer Respite Care: Providing short breaks for foster and adoptive parents can offer much-needed rest and rejuvenation. -Emotional Support: Foster and adoptive parents may face unique challenges. Offering a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on can make a big difference. -Share Resources: Connect them with resources and organizations that specialize in foster and adoption support. -Celebrate Milestones: Acknowledge the achievements and milestones of foster and adoptive families. Every step forward is a victory. -Volunteer or Donate: Consider volunteering your time or donating to organizations that support foster and adoptive families. Together, we can create a community where every child finds a loving and supportive home. Please help spread our mission, so that we may be able to reach others in need. The help available can truly make a difference. Thank you! #LeilanisHope #WednesdayWisdom #FosterAndAdoptiveFamilies #CommunitySupport

I run a unique program dedicated to the needs of women who have aged out of the foster care system but still need support and guidance. DM me to support and find out more.
🌟 Big changes often start with small acts of kindness. Did you know that many foster children have to move their belongings in trash bags? It's a small detail that carries a big emotional weight. Here's how you can help: Next time you're updating your luggage, instead of sending the old ones to Goodwill, consider cleaning them up and donating them to your local foster care agency. This simple gesture can bring dignity and a sense of normalcy to these young lives in transition. 🧳💙 Let's work together to replace those trash bags with something more deserving. Share this message and let's make a meaningful impact in the lives of foster children in our communities. Every child deserves to carry their belongings with pride. #FosterCareSupport #DonateLuggage #KindnessMatters #CommunityCare

Charity Founder at Creating Memories, we are passionate about making the wishes of life limiting and terminally ill children come true locally within Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
This is simply why we do what we do !!! Memories are all we have and it is so important to be able to create them on a regular basis to keep us going, to remember the good times, enjoy life, be part of joy. When a child is unwell it is not so easy to be able to do that and we are here to help create memories that the whole family can look forward to and treasure always. We take so much in life for granted and it just shows how simple things can create so much joy as these children are living in the moment. So help us to create moments to treasure as it is only by working together that we can make the wishes happen and do this. Let's create moments the child can look back on and remember all the joy and fun had, which in turn can make them feel better if they are having a bad day. Lets make a difference in children's lives. #creatingmemories #localsupportinglocal #localsupport #makingadifferencetogether #bedford #bedfordbusinesses #childrenscharity #localcharitysupport #localcharity #givingback #givingbacktothecommunity #feelgood #givingbackfeelsgood #hertfordshire #hertfordshirebusiness #buckinghamshire #buckinghamshirebusiness #charitycommunity #workingtogether #makingithappen #childrenswish #childrenwithlifelimitingconditions #childrenswishes #helpingchildren #helpingchildrensparkle #helpingchildrenwithspecialneeds

Happy Give to the Max Day, Minnesota! You're going to see a lot of messages today asking for support and I hope you will spread your money around! #GTMD23 is such a huge and impactful day for the social good sector and your dollars really make a huge difference. I want to tell you about a few of the orgs that I support throughout the day. Of course, Greater Twin Cities United Way is on my list. Last month, I came on board as the Senior Manager of our statewide 211 Helpline. Last year this program supported nearly 470,000 requests from families needing child care, young adults facing homelessness, college students seeking food resources, and so many other needs from our neighbors across Minnesota. Our Community Resource Specialists are available 24/7 every single day of the year and work to coordinate and connect services across the state to prevent people seeking help from falling through the cracks of process. Greater Twin Cities United Way has a giving match from Post Consumer Brands so your money will go even further! Finish up your Raisin Bran and toss some money toward our community impact and learn more about our innovation programs through our absolutely gorgeous Community Impact Report (in the comments). Our innovation areas include generating systemic response to populations who repeatedly fall through the cracks, working with our partners to solve problems no one can solve alone. There's an incredible initiative working at the intersection of homelessness and young adults exiting//aging out of the foster system or being released from carceral facilities. A huge rate of imprisoned people are released into homelessness, whether that's couch hopping, doubling up, staying with family, etc. Pathways Home works to improve the systems that contribute to homelessness in deep collaboration with the communities that are most impacted. Or the work of our Full Lives initiative. Here in the Twin Cities, entire neighborhoods lack access to healthy, affordable food. The effects of these food injustices extend beyond households to a community’s educational, economic and health outcomes. By investing in proven initiatives that address hunger on a neighborhood level, we can get to the heart of the challenges and transform outcomes alongside whole communities. Those are just *some* of the ways that Greater Twin Cities United Way is engaged in real systems change holistically with our partners and the communities we are embedded and invested in.
