Why are there so many shippers who will consistently chose carriers with the lowest rate quotes? They believe that carrier's with the cheapest rates will help with their bottom line and that it is the best decision when it comes to profit margin for their division at the end of the year. What really happens? Those shippers often run into issues that the carrier's trucks suffer "break downs" but do not say until the last minute, which lead to delays to the customer. Those same trucks usually have drivers who do not wear proper PPE, follow specific instructions, late for appointments, and have poor communication! It will all lead to a bad experience for the customer that in the end will second guess who they will purchase from. With the average freight rates over the past 2 years being at their lowest since pre pandemic why are we still searching for the lowest rate? Wouldn't it be more beneficial to have a fair rate with exceptional service? We know our customers prefer great communication, on time appointments, experienced drivers, and solutions to any hiccups not excuses. I can never promise to be your lowest rate but I always provide full service on every shipment. Making myself available 24/7 as well incase of emergencies. It seems like some shippers are learning the hard way that quality service beats cheap rates. What's your take?
