This Alliance, ICFOA, which includes CFO leaders from across Africa, Europe, and Central America, aims to foster collaboration, establish common standards, and advocate for the CFO profession. 🌍Access to bigger markets and global recognition for CFOs through the International CFO Alliance (ICFOA).   As a member of the CFO Club, you now have access to the ICFOA.    🤝 The ICFOA or International CFO Alliance was born from the desire of France and several countries, including Tunisia, South Africa and Italy, to create an international federation of national organizations of financial managers.    👫 It took almost three years to bring together and agree on more than twenty countries on three continents, Africa, South America and Europe, with stages in Paris, Capri and Tunisia.    🌐All continents are represented, and all countries are associated with or responsible for working groups. Equity and representativeness are two essential rules of the Alliance.    ✈ The International CFO Alliance held its inaugural meeting in Tunisia on June 9, 2023, hosted by Tunisia’s local CFO association, COGEREF.    💼Since its inception, the ICFOA has been active in:  ✔ -responding to consultations of the ISSB and EFRAG, particularly on questions of applicability and implementation of the CSRD in European and foreign companies,   ✔ -relaunching the International Performance Manager Observatory which will be presented internationally next November at the Alliance congress in South Africa.   ✔ -and initiating working groups on digital transformation and international taxation (with positions on tax reform international BEPS 2.0 and the proposed European BEFIT directive).    📝The ICFOA is also involved in an international certification process for the finance function (CFO Certification) in collaboration with the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) placed within the European Union, in link with national certification and standardization bodies such as AFNOR for France and UNI for Italy.  The Alliance will be a stakeholder in this international certification process. 📅 The ICFOAs upcoming events include a board meeting in Madrid in April 2024 and participation in events in Lomé and Lisbon in May and June 2024. 🌟Overall, the ICFOA aims to be a leading organization in fostering collaboration and advancement in the field of financial management globally.    #GlobalFinance #ICFOA #CFOClub #CFOCertification #GlobalCFOs

While just under 62% of Chairs of Maltese equity issuers said that some form of Board assessment or review 📋 is carried out, almost half (42.9%) stated that this only takes the form of self-assessment. The MFSA’s Corporate Governance code 📜 suggests that, ideally, board performance evaluations are carried out by an independent, external third party. For the 22st year in a row, Report on Business has rated the work of Canada’s corporate boards using a rigorous set of governance criteria designed to go far beyond minimum mandatory rules imposed by regulators. Markers at Global Governance Advisors examined the boards of directors of 219 companies and trusts in the S&P/TSX Composite Index to assess the quality of their governance practices. The chart shows the total marks for 2023 based on dozens of individual criteria across four broad subcategories.
