Congratulations to three of our distinguished teachers who proudly represented our district as panelists at this year's MATSOL - Massachusetts Association of Teachers of Speakers of Other Languages (MATSOL) Conference. The event, held from May 29-31, 2024, at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center, brought together educators and leaders in the field of language teaching. Sonia Gutierrez-Sisolak (Framingham High School), Amelia Andrade (Cameron Middle School), and José Martínez (Fuller Middle School) represented Framingham Public Schools as they presented a compelling session titled "Framingham Paraprofessionals Building an ESL Teacher Pipeline through University Partnership." Their presentation highlighted a collaborative effort between Framingham paraprofessionals, district leaders, and Lesley University faculty to develop a robust ESL teacher pipeline. This strategic partnership aims to address the growing demand for qualified ESL teachers and enhance the professional journey of paraprofessionals. The panelists shared their unique paths into the Lesley Elementary and ESL licensure program, reflecting on how this transformative experience has enriched their professional practices and shaped their future aspirations. In a special acknowledgment, the teachers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Everton Vargas da Costa for his visionary leadership and guidance throughout this impactful initiative. Framingham Public Schools celebrates the achievements of these remarkable educators and their contributions to advancing ESL education. Their participation in the MATSOL Conference underscores the district's commitment to excellence and innovation in language teaching. #Framingham #PublicSchools #Education #MATSOL #ESL #Teachers #EmbracingDifferences #InspiringFutures
