Discovery Campers dedicated their morning to assisting Park District staff with weed removal and learning about various plants and flowers in the Discovery Park garden. A few years ago, Discovery Park received an Earth Day in the Parks Grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. This program encourages the stewardship of natural resources by engaging Illinois school children in activities like planting native trees and wildflowers. During the summer, we involve our campers to teach them the importance of caring for nature. 💚🌳

Supporting rare breeds is one of the CRT’s core aims. We have Traditional Herefords at Awnells Farm in Herefordshire, Oxford Sandy and Black pigs at Bere Marsh Farm in Dorset and Llanwenog sheep at Twyford Farm in West Sussex.
