An executive job search typically takes between 4 and 18 months. Plus, summer is the perfect time to get prepared. Use this opportunity to get clear on your goals, create your executive resume, optimize your LinkedIn profile, begin growing and activating your network, and connect with recruiters. Remember - The search for the right leadership role with the right company at the right compensation takes time. If you need help with any of the above, reach out to us at D&S Executive Career Management for support. #jobsearchtips #jobsearchadvice #opportunities #hiring

Looking for a new job? Well don't hit pause on your search because of the Holidays. This article, by Samorn Selim highlights why. As a Recruitment Professional, I often hear about the hiring lull of the holiday season. And yeah, it's true in a lot of instances, however, it's not always the case. In fact, I have had multiple conversations in the last few weeks with hiring leaders who have said they have immediate needs starting in January and would like to start interviewing like... now. I know that looking for a new job IS a full time job, and it's exhausting, especially in a less than stellar market. However, like Samorn mentions in this article, now is the time when fewer people are applying to jobs, so your chance of being seen and considered increases. If you're looking for a resource to assist in your job search, please reach out to me! I am happy to help in any way I can. Being a top performer is not the only way you can get promoted. I'm not saying you don't have to be a high-performing individual in order to move forward. But often, that's not enough. And more often, it's not the only way to go about advancing your career! Instead, think about building relationships with the people who you know will be influential in advancing your career. That could be: ➡️ The person you will be working for when you are promoted (not necessarily your current manager) ➡️ Managers of other departments or parts of the business ➡️ People who you know could create opportunities for you It takes more than just being a high-performing individual. You also need to focus energy on strategic and mutually-beneficial connections! -- Join our live webinar on November 14th: Fast-Track Your Career to $500k+ Jobs. Monday candid conversation: I had a coffee catch-up with a client who shared that he enriches people’s daily lives with his range of consumer products, including beverages, jams, and personal care items. He then asked me what I do as an executive search professional. I candidly replied: "I turn people’s aspirations into reality." Practically, my job is to find the right people for the right job at the executive level. This involves understanding cultural fit, leadership style, team-building capabilities, management skills, scaling potential, and overall impact on the company's growth. It’s about showing candidates what they can achieve, understanding where their motivations lie, and finding a perfect match with companies from that perspective. In executive search, it’s about more than just filling positions; it’s about transformation. It’s about shaping careers, building companies, and creating futures. Each placement is a step towards someone achieving their potential and a company reaching new heights. What do you think about this perspective? Here’s to shaping futures and making meaningful connections!
