Fresh Graduate | Bachelor's Degree of Economics with Honours ( Financial Economics) | Alumni Universiti Malaysia Sabah
I'm grateful and thank my One Stop Superstore shop leader —— Madam Magret, for arranging for me to work as a cashier at the counter, during which time I learned many new skills from the senior cashier staff. These skills include: 1️⃣ Handling cash and credit/debit payment transactions. 2️⃣ Balancing cash drawers and reconciling transactions at the end of each shift. 3️⃣ Topping up/reloading membership cards. 4️⃣ Deducting membership balances. 5️⃣ Recording transactions. 6️⃣ Techniques for answering customer inquiries. 7️⃣ Packaging customer's items. Furthermore, I have become more precise and careful when handling payment transactions because any mistake can result in the loss of our store and our beloved customers. Every single day presents itself as an opportunity for learning. I am committed to seizing these daily chances to expand my knowledge, fostering an unyielding curiosity and an open-minded approach. I embrace the journey of continuous exploration, learning, and personal growth. #OneStopSuperstoreTuaran

An interesting comment!!
To all the Supermarkets and big commercial stores that operate 'Self Check-outs'....... You are heading towards almost exclusively self-checkout now. Yesterday I went shopping at one such store and the lady checking receipts at the exit was stopping everyone. I didn't choose to participate in that nonsense, I had already filled my trolly, emptied my trolly and scanned the items, refilled my trolly and so I just skipped the exit line and left. I heard her saying "Umm - Excuse me “ as I kept walking and raised the receipt above my head, leaving the store. You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place like it used to be. • I'm not interested in proving that I did your job for you. • If you want me to be a cashier with no training then that's your problem not mine. • Keep employing young people and give them job opportunities. YOU DON'T PAY ME TO SCAN MY OWN SHOPPING. YOU DON’T GIVE ME STAFF DISCOUNT FOR WORKING FOR YOU. Signed ......All of us People we need to share this statement its basically about PROFIT to the stores AND putting People out of a JOB....!!!

DOES WORKING WITH PEOPLE MAKE YOU HAPPY ❓ The essence of a cashier's job is working with people. ✔ You have to deal with hundreds of customers to whom you at least have to say good morning, here you go, goodbye. There are also questions about prices, applications, discounts, vouchers. You can't even imagine. Formally speaking, relationships are of a secondary nature, because you do not know these people, and it is not normal to take everything to heart. However, there are moments when we advise each other, correct our thinking, and learn patience. 💡 My God, there's always a wait at the cash register. Just enough to start a chat. For some, going to the store is a ritual and the only form of socialization. They are mostly elderly people. To what I knew so far, I am adding lessons about consumer habits, character and mentality of our people, as well as foreigners. And the famous fact that the customer is always right, no matter how illogical some requests seem. You are there to take on the challenges and questions they throw at you. This work cannot be done by someone who is not prepared to listen carefully. Despite the existence of a self-service cash register, the cashier is the person most customers come to. The exchange of energy is incredible. ⚡ The dynamics of work are such that some enter and others leave, like on a conveyor belt. It seems patterned… Actually, not at all. Life is the best school. How do you experience working with people ❓ Does it make you happy ❓ Feel free to leave a comment. ✍ #sales #cashier #consumers #lifeschool #lessons #activelistening #communication #shopping

It is not because we can replace all these jobs with machines, that we should. What are all the people who lose their jobs to this change going to do? I believe it is an ethical/moral question. We should not just focus on profit maximization. Headhunterzz.com..Use your Brain for a Change! The fast food cashier was unfailingly friendly. She smiled, made eye contact, and gave each customer a warm greeting. 25% of customers didn't reciprocate. Here's how those exchanges went: Cashier: "Welcome in! How are you?" Customer: "I'll have ____" Many of those customers treated the cashier with open disdain. Their words and demeanor throughout the interaction suggested they believed the cashier was beneath them. The cashier was steadfast in her friendliness. After each rude customer, she wiped the slate clean. Put a big smile on her face, and gave the next person a warm greeting. I admire her resolute friendliness. It's not easy to be treated rudely and just roll with it. I've seen that rudeness get to people. It wears on them. Rude customers eventually take a toll. Soon, employees begin treating customers rudely, too. Bottom line: Treat customer service employees with kindness. You're helping them (and other customers) more than you know. #ServiceCulture
