Annual Workforce Development Fall Retreat On October 2nd through October 4th, the Career Catalyst team met in person for the annual Workforce Development Fall Retreat in Winters,California. The retreat provided ample opportunity for the team to discuss the importance of programmatic areas in developing the workforce. As a team working fully remote, it was an incredible time to bond and foster deeper connections not only within the CarCat team, but the Workforce Development Department as a whole.

Director of Content ✨ I talk about personal branding, marketing, and other things I learn along the way.
Honored to be apart of this conversation with Scot and Dina at Highland. Being a CEO is tough stuff. But you don't have to do it alone. Excited to announce that we're is opening up applications at Highland, for our next class of Founders and/or CEOs looking to scale their Startup. It's a good fit if: ✅ You’re a founder & CEO ✅ And you’re hungry to learn how ✅ You want to lead a team of any size ✅ You have a product people are buying ✅ You want to have a life-changing outcome ✅ You’re looking to scale the company & team ✅ You want to grow into a top 1% CEO & leader ✅ You want to work more on the business, not in it ✅ You want to establish an optimal operating rhythm ✅ You want a support network of fellow bad-ass CEOs Not a fit if: ❌ You prefer to work alone ❌ You’re not a founder or CEO ❌ You’re already a world-class top 1% CEO ❌ You’re pre-launch or pre product-market-fit ❌ You like to have every decision flow through you ❌ You’re not into continuous learning or reinvention Leave a comment (or send me a DM) for more details. Would love to chat with you.

This week in Highland was an absolute blast... My former head of People Ops, Dina Rulli, agreed to join me on a private fireside with our members. We told war stories of course... But we mostly focused on the do's and don'ts of building the people ops function... From 5 people to 500. Everything from recruitment to HR. Like: - How do you build a recruiting engine? - How can I get honest feedback as the CEO? - How can you maintain transparency as you scale? - What to do when a long-time employee hits a ceiling? We do these live sessions every other week on Wednesday mornings for the Highland community. A group of bad ass founders... Learning to build highly valuable companies together. No B.S. Just real talk. Sound interesting? I'd love to hear from you.

“Hiring employees with neurodiverse backgrounds solves not only the workforce challenges manufacturers have right now but helps us fulfill a value important to Morrison - helping our community. We’d be missing out on valuable contributors to the workforce without embracing workforce initiatives like this that can make a difference in our organizations and the world around us.” Learn more about building neurodiversity within your organization from Ben Schatzel, Founder & Managing Director at Stannum Core Solutions (The Illinois Manufacturer, Page 8). https://ow.ly/LSMC50RCgyX

Happy Workforce Development Month! Did you know the federally funded public workforce development system: · Provides all workers and job seekers with equitable access to training and coaching, employment and advancement support services, and good jobs that provide family-supporting wages? · Centers, values, and honors the lived experiences of workers and job seekers, and helps them overcome barriers to employment, such as being formerly incarcerated, formerly in foster care, having a disability, being a single-parent, or being an English-language learner? · Brings together local elected officials, a grant administrator, a Workforce Board, and a director to coordinate and align local services through American Job Centers and the One-stop delivery system? · Encourages those in the system to work collectively and ensure that community members who are low-income, basic skills deficient, veterans, or live in a disadvantaged area (rural or urban) are connected to career services, work experiences, and job training? · Prioritizes transparency, respect, honest, and trust among all partners and local communities by having open meetings, performance measures, and friendly sites? Workforce Development Month is a chance to make local workforce development and local Workforce Boards more visible! You can find your local Workforce Board by visiting Illinois Workforce Partnership https://lnkd.in/gGqbnbrP https://lnkd.in/gFyze3fN
