After 13 impactful years, we say farewell to Arnold Randall, General Superintendent of the Forest Preserves of Cook County. While working for the Forest Preserves, Randall assisted in crafting a strategic conservation plan for the next century of the Forest Preserves. His leadership has greatly improved and strengthened our efforts toward the restoration and protection of Cook County's natural lands. Advocating for the preservation of 70,000 acres, Randall leaves a lasting imprint on Cook County's conservation. He has done an excellent job providing leadership to keep our forest preserves available, safe, and a pleasure for many to enjoy.
Arnold, wish the best in your next chapter whatever that may lead you. I had the professional pleasure interacting with you and your team while I worked with the CDOTH and the Phase 1 for Quentin Rd from Dundee Ave to Lake Cook Rd. You were a true professional with balancing the needs of the CCFPD and needs of the CCDOTH network needs. Best of luck, you made a major impact to Cook County, thank you!
Thank you for sharing the last 13 years with us who deeply appreciate and love the Forest Preserves and believe we are so lucky. You guided the FPCC into the next century with vision, inclusion, and enthusiasm. Thank you!
Congratulations Arnold! You were always a supportive, creative colleague way back in our Chicago Park Districts days. You greatly improved both the Forest Preserve and the CPD. I am sure you will do wonders at the Donnelley Foundation, they are lucky to have your leadership and vision.
What an incredible run as the leader of the Cook County Forest Preserves! Amazing impact for generations to come. Best to you in your next chapter!
It’s amazing what was accomplished under Arnold’s leadership and it was truly a privilege to have served on staff under him
Arnold has been a remarkable steward of our precious, green legacy, our Emerald Necklace, the lungs of our region, and he has been an exemplary public servant.
As someone who enjoys time in the forest preserves of Cook County, I will be forever grateful for your stewardship. To your next adventure, Arnold Randall!
Great job Arnold, have fun in your next phase. The improvements you started bring new life to the FPD
at one with the universe
5moAbout a week before this ceremony, Arnold made an unannounced visit to SandRidge Nature Center just to say hi to our team and then take a walk around the grounds. It’s these kind of little touches and courtesies that really set him aside as a great leader. He doesn’t just talk the talk - he walks the walk (literally). It shows how much he cares and it has inspired us all to care that much as well.
