It's unfortunately necessary in the current media environment to review what is reported vs. what was actually said by Trump and others. Did Trump actually state he'd encourage an adversary (clearly Russia) to "do what they want" to a NATO ally that wasn't spending its treaty-defined percentage of GDP on defense? The short answer is YES, discussion beginning at 38:47 in the below video. Similar to recent comments re Taiwan, Trump frames this as a negotiating tactic. The goal being to ensure the US is not shouldering all the financial and other burdens under defense obligations. Whether this is a logical goal and an effective short-term negotiating tactic is a question ignored in much of the reporting. Ignored by Trump in framing international relations as a financial cost-benefit analysis, however, is the extent to which this sends adversaries a message the US is willing to sell out its allies, and that American resolve is based firmly in relative costs. This may seem logical, particularly in a business environment. But in the context of IR it arguably encourages adversaries to be more aggressive with action that maximizes costs, as a means to break American resolve. No doubt Trump thinks his resolve should be unquestionable. In any scenario grounded in the Constitution, however, his time as Commander in Chief is limited. Dependence on the temporary strength of one personality doesn't seem long-term stabilizing from a systemic perspective. The track record of Trump administration tactics re North Korea vs. current outcomes may serve as an apt case study. https://lnkd.in/eeGTdGX7

THIS IS NOT THE END OF THE STORY. THE GOOD DOCTOR FRIEDMAN Came "Milton Friedman, who is the intellectual architect and unofficial adviser for the team of economists now running the Chilean economy, stated: “In spite of my profound disagreement with the authoritarian political system of Chile, I do not consider it as evil for an economist to render technical economic advice to the Chilean Government, any more than I would regard it as evil for a physician to give technical medical advice to the Chilean Government to help end a medical plague.” The laws of the markets were regarded by the Chicago boys(and many other pundits) as a scientific remedy. Nothing was spared to help; " The U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence has disclosed that “CIA collaborators” helped plan the economic measures that Chile’s junta enacted immediately after seizing power. Committee witnesses maintain that some of the “Chicago boys” received CIA funds for such research efforts as a 300-page economic blueprint that was given to military leaders before the coup. It is therefore understandable that after seizing power they were, as The Wall Street Journal put it, “champing to be unleashed” on the Chilean economy. Their first approach to the situation was gradual; only after a year of relative confusion did they decide to implement without major modification the theoretical model they had been taught at Chicago. The occasion merited a visit to Chile by Mr. Friedman himself who, along with his associate, Professor Harberger, made a series of well-publicized appearances to promote a “shock treatment” for the Chilean economy—something that Friedman emphatically described as “the only medicine. Absolutely. " To know what happened follow these links https://lnkd.in/gjk7JcW6 https://lnkd.in/gjk7JcW6 And pay attention because, though the good doctor Friedman is not with us any longer, his disciples are ready to use the remedies to what they say is the ailing body of USA. In even stronger dose : The GOP's propose to privatize all the good and the services of the state.
As Chile marks the 50th anniversary of the coup that brought strongman Augusto Pinochet to power for almost 17 years, it’s important to recall the central role played by Richard Nixon and Nixon’s national security adviser, Henry Kissinger, in this atrocity.

if you want an objective humanitarian perspective on the situation, from someone entrenched in the US government.
"October 7th was an atrocity... October 6th was an atrocity, too. And I think the really important thing we need to do is to not only say there can never be another October 7th, but also there can never be another October 6th." I was honored to sit down last week with Dania Akkad and Middle East Eye to discuss U.S. arms transfers and the current conflict in Gaza. In our wide-ranging conversation we also touched on how Henry Kissinger's legacy continues to hang heavily over current U.S. foreign policy, why a departure from our values is so deeply damaging to American and Western interests, and why a visit to the 9/11 Memorial in New York underlined for me the importance of human connection that is so often absent in Washington D.C. policymaking. “The history of the Palestine conflict spans over at least 27,287 days (from March 23, 1949, to the present). This prolonged period has witnessed a multitude of root causes and consequences, including policy failures, vested interests, and covert operations. These factors have tragically led to the displacement, suffering, and dehumanization of millions of innocent civilians, including children. Thousands of innocent people have died without any justifiable reason. These are undeniable facts, shaped by a history of flawed policies, strategic missteps, and ill intentions. However, the manipulation of these realities by various media outlets, political figures, and agencies has further complicated the situation, casting a shadow of confusion and misunderstanding over public opinion. It is crucial to acknowledge these atrocities for what they are, regardless of one’s affiliations or ideological leanings. They are humanitarian crises that demand immediate cessation. It is important to recognize and affirm that both the Jewish community worldwide and the Palestinian people inherently deserve to live in peace, with dignity, freedom, and security. No individual or group should be deprived of these fundamental rights. The responsibility now falls on us, the global community, to critically evaluate and challenge the failed policies that have perpetuated this conflict. Change is only possible when facts are brought to light by courageous individuals like Josh Paul, who dare to take a stand. Their efforts can guide us towards a more informed and humane approach to resolving this enduring conflict.”

https://lnkd.in/eXx9qgHv Take note a Political Party is a discrete identity subject to RICO and the DNC has been planning the destruction of America since 2012 when God's name was removed from the Democratic National Committee platform. The successful 2020 coup d'état removed President Trump from office and the attacks to keep him from acquiring the office again in 2024 are relentless. Bring a RICO case against the DNC and all of the corrupt politicians and deep state operatives immediately! Arrest them using former speaker Pelosi’s Jan 6 standards. https://lnkd.in/exnNMhrC WWIII is rapidly approaching and we need Congress to make a declaration of war and go on an unprecedented emergency footing to restore President Trump office to prevent WWIII, secure our borders, and Drill Baby Drill to replenish our strategic oil reserves ASAP. Trump should select Ron DeSantis as VP for his proven leadership on the home front in preparation for the Presidential role in 2028. Other wise an emergency call of a Convention of the States to address our problems will become necessary. Make the United States of America Beautiful Again (MABA) as #OneNationUnderGod, #LoveYourNeighbor, #PurgeTheScourge, and Clean up America. Love is the answer.

The world needs fresh ideas and a new type of politics and politicians, representing mankind as a whole and each of us as equals instead of fragmented political interests! We have to grow together in order to urgently address the issues that impact all of us like conflict, climate change, inequality and forced migration together. This we can only do without any dominance, as equals. Collectively in Solidarity. www.convergence.ngo & www.pax.ngo
