FIMC is so appreciative of the speedy consideration and advancement of H.R. 8816, the American Medical Innovation and Investment Act, which contains an updated version of H.R. 6780, the Medically Tailored Home-Delivered Meals Demonstration Pilot Act, by the Committee today. By quickly advancing H.R. 8816 to the floor of the House of Representatives with an affirmative vote, the Committee on Ways & Means has already taken a critical step to expand access to Medially Tailored Meals (MTMs), bend the health care cost curve, and provide medically vulnerable seniors with healthy and delicious medically tailored meals in their homes. ✅FIMC urges a speedy passage of H.R. 8816 to advance equitable access to this lifesaving intervention!

Sharing this to try and get some discussion around the 2024 outlook going... We still have no operational guidance for the NHS to give clarity on their priorities for 2024 (although it doesn't take much to perhaps speculate what we think the areas of focus will be). We covered a range of topics from primary care to specialised commissioning and what 2024 looks like for working in and with the aforementioned areas. It would be great to know what your thoughts are on what looks likely to be an extraordinary 2024 for pharma/medtech in the UK. #marketaccess #pharmaceuticalindustry #meddevice #medtech #pharmaindustry #pharmaceuticalsales

General Practice is under stress! I spoke with BBC about the pressures faced by GPs. We are underfunded, understaffed and overworked. ➡️ National GP (GMS) contract pays us £107.57 per year per patient! ➡️ 30p per day per patient ➡️ Less than annual BBC licence fee ➡️ Our teams are doing more than 1 million appointments per day ➡️ We are seeing patients on average 6 times a year ➡️ We are going through half the population every month! ❗️All this with 2000 GPs and 1300 practices less than 2015! We need ✅ More funding ✅ More GPs ✅ More autonomy ✅ Less bureacracy ✅ Manageable workload British Medical Association

Hitting the sweet spot to raise awareness on STOP PU Day. Our staff see our products every day, but we consider raising awareness internally just as important as sharing knowledge with the public and healthcare professionals. Our teams understand the impact of pressure ulcers and how our products are pivotal in preventing them. We are not the lone voice. Over the past year, many other bodies have begun work on addressing the issues we identified in Safer care for all. Here is a quick round-up: ● NHS England published its Workforce plan, setting out the 15-year strategy for tackling the workforce crisis. We continue our call to Government to develop a regulation strategy to support it, and use regulation as an enabler of workforce innovation. ● The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman published their report, ‘Broken trust: making patient safety more than just a promise.’ They share our view of the system as a confusing, disjointed landscape, with often knee-jerk reactions to patient safety crises. Patient safety voice and leadership are fractured. ● Dr Bill Kirkup (independent report of Maternity and Neonatal services in East Kent) and The Inquest charity (No More Deaths campaign) share our view that the current system of inquiries and reviews needs improvement. ● Patient Safety Learning's ‘The elephant in the room: Patient safety and Integrated Care’ describes the same disjointed patient safety landscape. They recommend revising the remit of the National Patient Safety Committee, with it taking on a greater role in coordinating and joining-up the existing patient safety landscape in England. ● Changes in the funding and delivery of health and care continue to accelerate. The Government published a white paper, setting out its ‘pro-innovation’ approach to AI regulation. ● The Patient Safety Commissioner for England began her work and set out her priorities. The Patient Safety Commissioner for Scotland bill has passed through its first two stages of the Scottish Parliament and sets out a vision for a safety commissioner that considers the breadth of the health system. It's clear that many of us share deep concerns about the future of our healthcare system. The stark reality is that our GPs are underfunded, understaffed, and overworked, managing over 1 million appointments daily with significantly fewer resources than just a few years ago. I'm keen to hear more from you: 💬 How do you think we can better support our GPs and ensure sustainable healthcare for all? 💡 What innovative solutions or successful practices have you seen implemented that could be applied more broadly? Together, we can advocate for: ✅ Increased funding to ensure quality patient care. ✅ More GPs to meet rising demand. ✅ Greater autonomy for practices to better serve their communities. ✅ Reduced bureaucracy to streamline operations. ✅ Manageable workloads to maintain the health and well-being of our healthcare providers. Let's keep this crucial conversation going and work collectively towards meaningful change. #GeneralPractice #SupportGPs #NHS #HealthcareFunding #GPPressure

National Clinical Director NHS Executive Wales (interim) passionate about making a positive difference to the health and well-being of our population in Wales.
Well done Gaurav Gupta for highlighting these issues through BBC …. A Gp’s work is not just about numbers it’s far more complex…. Good relational care is difficult to quantify except when it’s not there …. reducing primary care to a series of transactional interactions where patients outcomes will be adversely impacted and our acute hospitals further overwhelmed … primary care needs significantly more investment and resource to better support our communities and reduce the burden on our hospitals 🙏
