Every child deserves a chance to thrive, no matter where they are born. Today, I want to share the story of a resilient child in Africa who, despite facing poverty and oppression, is striving for a better future. 🌍This child, like many others, dreams of going to school, having enough to eat, and living a life free from fear. But, these basic rights are often denied due to circumstances beyond their control. We have the power to change this. By providing access to education, healthcare, and necessities, we can help break the cycle of poverty and give these children the future they deserve. 🎓🍎🏥Let’s stand together to make a difference. Your support can transform a life and create a ripple effect that will impact generations to come. Remember, every child matters, and every action counts. ❤️Read more about ColourRise Inc.'s goals at our Link in Bio. #EveryChildMatters #AccessToEducation #FutureGenerations #TransformALife #MakeADifference #BreakTheCycle #EndChildPoverty #EducationForAll #ChangeALife #FAZZA #Faz3

Princeton sociologist and MacArthur “Genius” Matthew Desmond was launched onto the national stage as an expert on contemporary American poverty with the publication of his Pulitzer Prize winning bestseller Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City. Combining years of embedded fieldwork with painstakingly gathered data, Evicted transformed our understanding of inequity and economic exploitation in America. Desmond’s latest book, the instant #1 New York Times bestseller Poverty, by America investigates why the United States, the richest country on earth, has more poverty than any other advanced democracy. Why does this land of plenty allow one in every eight of its children to go without basic necessities, permit scores of its citizens to live and die on the streets, and authorize its corporations to pay poverty wages? At this year’s annual Celebration Breakfast, Matthew Desmond will speak to CCC’s audience on his latest book, which draws on history, research, and original reporting to understand how poverty persists and opportunities to make change. In NYC, 24.5% of children live below the poverty threshold—that’s over 1.6 million kids and their families struggling with economic insecurity. But advocates and allies persist in their efforts to strengthen supports and stability for these families, and at this year’s Celebration Breakfast we’re also taking the opportunity to honor some outstanding advocates working to better the lives of children and families in NYC: The Bridge Project, Trudy B. Festinger, D.S.W., and the Family Homelessness Coalition Fellows. Poverty stands at the intersection of issues surrounding housing, financial stability, health care, child welfare, and more. Our honorees have all dedicated themselves and their work to advancing the well-being of families here in NYC. Join us on October 31 to celebrate advocacy and receive a copy of Desmond’s Poverty, By America. Current Job Role. Domestic Abuse Manager. Past job Roles Personal DA Safety Custody Adviser @ London Probation Street Homeless Health Link Team Leader Top Skills Problem Solving, Activism Service Transformation
This is what the UK has come to . Welfare reform changes are causing these issues universal credits for those working or not is not enough to live on Rise in prices for food rent . House hold bills are a major factors leading to familes not being able to afford basics such as food clothes and buy basic house hold items such as beds and warm bedding cleaning products. The goverment need to stop with the rhetoric that changes in welfare reform localism act has not had an impact and lead to where we are now it has . It has forced local authoritys to make cuts in housing benefit and emergency’ grants that used to be run via DWP is now been replaced with loans and discretionary payments made via local authority’s that can take weeks to be processed . Local authortiys once they have run out of funding can’t help them The criteria if working a person must be earning under 16.000 per year to get help. This means many parents are not eligible to apply if working but still in desperate need this amount needs to be changed to help more familes and free school meals should be eligible for all regardless of income until they leave school . Kids young people can’t learn if there hungry dirty and tired . Do better MPs and sort this mess out . Goverment Stop blaming the poorest for a system thats broken and causing hardship to most vulnerable your stats are misleading as on the ground its a lot bleaker . Thankfuly teachers and charitys are stepping in to ensure children have the basic’s . However how long that can continue on for is whats worrying 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

A lot of people think a child will break out of a poverty cycle if they can make it to college, research shows, breaking the cycle of poverty starts way before that. It's cultivating a mindset in a child at a young age that he or she has a purpose and is capable and are not in this alone! Primary education is the foundation for which all other education will be built upon. If a child hasn't been nurtured well in the most critical developmental stages of their lives, it greatly increases the risk of them staying in the cycle with no spiritual, mental or intellectual capacity to break out. Kids should have access to quality education no matter what their home life looks like, tutoring and mentorship are necessities for any child of any background to help them have the best chance of success, but most especially for children from at-risk situations. #northtexas #texaseducation #povertycycle #endpoverty #atriskyouth #childpoverty #afterschoolprogram #youthadvocacy #childhooddevelopment #youthempowerment #childhoodtrauma #povertyawareness #dallasnonprofit #dallastexas #ntx #texasnonprofit

JULY IS NATIONAL MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR CHILDREN MONTH! Poverty is a huge barrier for the development of a child; most who grow up in poverty never escape it! Intergenerational poverty is plaguing many US cities; Indianapolis seems to be the only medium-large US city that has experienced a prolonged, and steady increase in the numbers of residents in poverty despite growth in population (17% since 1970). The number of those below the poverty line has grown by 137% in the past 22 years! Twenty-five (25) per cent of Indy’s impoverished are 18 years old, or under. An exit from poverty depends on numerous factors such as educational and employment opportunities, the availability of role models, and child and parent aspirations. In upcoming posts, I will review the situation in Indianapolis, and hope for the future! #youth #youthdevelopment #poverty #dosomething #makeadifference #youthsuccess #donation
