We have finally seen a lull in the weather after floods wreaked havoc across Kenya, Sadly statistics from Red Cross say that over 200 people lost their lives and approximately 47,000 households were displaced. With this kind of unpredictable weather are there opportunities that we can take care of and harness the excess water caused by floods? Or should we be at the mercy of the weather? In this rainfall season of Deyr, Somalia has seen intense downpours driven by the El Nino. Several areas have received far more rain (up to 300 mm) in the last seven days than they would record over the whole Deyr season - October to December.  Over 1.17 million have been affected, over 334,800 people were displaced and at least 28 people have died.
