Some decisions are almost instantaneous, coming directly from the gut. When I got the call from Queralt Garriga, Francesc Camps Palou, Cris Marcos & Andrea Palomino de la Fuente I didn't give it a second thought. There was no way I was going to miss the opportunity to be part of the curatorial team of the first architecture museum in Spain: La Casa de la Arquitectura. How to connect the three elements: the museum itself, the website and the catalogued architectural works all over Spain, into a coherent narrative? How to engage a non-specialized public with the importance of architecture? How to reach out to young architects who are generally so demoralized and undervalued these days? And lastly, is it possible to build a leading site capable of transmitting the transformative power of architecture? Looking forward to exciting days at Shapes of Time - symposium at Yale School of Architecture! "An interdisciplinary group of artists, architects, scholars, and scientists to investigate the role time plays in their respective fields and in their individual scholarly and creative pursuits. The title hints at the different temporal scales and scopes within different fields. Contemporary conversations about environmental uncertainty, Deep Time, as well as differing ways time is conceptualized and experienced."

Visiting Professor: Final presentation of the course on the History of Modern and Postmodern Architecture in Spain in the Universidad Central de Venezuela, Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo Carlos Raúl Villanueva, Caracas, Venezuela. The course has covered the different stages of transformation of architecture in Spain in the 20th century, analyzing movements, thoughts and currents and delving into some pioneers of the modern movement in this region, among others. #ucv #venezuela #modernarchitecture #españa

BEHIND THE FORMS X SPATIAL METAPHOR North Gallery @northgalleryscut , Guangzhou, China 09/18 - 10/20 2023 Part II | METAPHOR In relation to the discussion of this part, the exhibition presents a variety of investigative explorations that attempt to elucidate the duality of architecture from different angles, covering spatial creative expressions emphasizing abstractions and generalizations of painting, reconstructions of spatial typologies starting from theatrical logics, reinterpretations of spatial experience modes based on traditional view of nature, and spatial morphological representations of transformations and reconfigurations relating to urban scale. This is an important conference do not hesitate to submit an abstract and this session is particularly important treating a central topic to consider in all activities linked to Architecture - the ethical dimension of its creation.

V&A's exhibition examines the colonial origins of "Tropical Modernism" in British West Africa, and the survival of the style in the post-colonial period when it symbolized the independence and progressiveness of newly independent countries like Ghana and India. Exhibition curators sought to contextualize the history of Tropical Modernism by also looking at the architecture against the regional anti-colonial struggle of the time. This film clip traces the style's colonialist beginnings to its adoption by Kwame Nkrumah, the first Prime Minister of newly-independent Ghana, to become a symbol of freedom, modernity and progressiveness. The full 30-minute film is on view at "Tropical Modernism: Architecture and Independence" at the V&A in London through September 2024.
