We like to say that we "drink our own champagne"! 🍾 And here’s an example of how we do so with our internal newsletter. Our amazing People Officer, Jonna, creates the Foleon newsletter every month to update us on the latest company news. Here’s why we think it’s a powerful example: 𝟭. 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 Always start with a people update: who’s been promoted, who’s joining, who’s leaving… This allows us to stay connected across departments. 𝟮. 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 Never forget to celebrate milestones with your colleagues. We always do! 𝟯. 𝗥𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 Every month should be about mental health awareness. Through our partnership with OpenUp, we put our mental health first. 𝟰. 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 Make time to gather with your colleagues outside of the workplace. It allows us to strengthen our bond as a team! This is how we roll at Foleon! 😎 What about you? PS: yes, these are indeed fake names

With a purpose statement like “Working Together is Human,” it's impossible to ignore the inherent humanity and close relationships necessary for success — for us and our brand partners alike. In our experience, mental health is paramount to forming and maintaining those relationships — which is why we try to practice things that center ourselves as individuals so that we can operate optimally as a team. From taking a collective breath at our Monday morning meeting to our temperature check-ins at our midweek huddle, small habits like these make a real difference in the way we work together. So, during this #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, let's all check in with ourselves and each other — as people, not just colleagues. After all, working together is human.

Director at Robertson Cooper Ltd. Helping to create more Good Days at Work for everyone, everywhere.
On Mental Health Awareness Week, I want to channel some of the pro-active energy and momentum we created in our Good Day at Work Challenge last year, where we asked you to actively pay attention to each of the four components of a Good Day at Work, in order to positively shift your experience of work over the course of a week, and ultimately experience more Good Days. At Robertson Cooper we’ve put decades of research into understanding exactly what makes a Good Day at Work. Led by some of the brightest thinkers in the field, our team of analysts have sifted through tens of thousands of responses to the question, “What does a Good Day at Work mean for you?” to develop the industry’s richest definition of the components that contribute to a Good Day at Work. We know that the best days contain four essential elements: ☀ Experiencing positive emotions ☀ Feeling connected ☀ Achieving tasks ☀ Performing meaningful work Simply put, if a work environment enables employees to experience these four elements, and if an employee grasps that opportunity, it leads to more Good Days. Which is great for us all. Are you up for taking the Good Day at Work challenge with me this week? Challenge 1, coming up tomorrow! #gooddayatwork #mentalhealthawarenessweek #challenge

Thank you to WorkLife Central Louisa Symington-Mills Fran Murrells (She/Her) for organising an incredible event last night. It was wonderful to meet you all in person. Rob Stephenson⁸ delved into the profound impact of music on mental health. 🙌 The session was enlightening and a testament to the healing power of music. 🎶 We know that music has a unique ability to soothe our souls, uplift our spirits, and bring solace in times of turmoil. 🌟 But what Rob reminded me of is how music can be harnessed to help us overcome another common challenge: sleep problems. 😴 🛌 Whether it's the calming melodies of classical music, the rhythmic heartbeat of nature sounds, or the lyrics that resonate with our emotions, the right music can help us sleep. It can also help mask other distracting sounds🌙 Research has shown that music can reduce anxiety, lower stress levels, and improve sleep quality. 📚 So music can help sleep. It can even help with menopause symptoms. Last year a small randomized trial demonstarted how music can help reduce depression and menopause symptoms in postmenopausal women https://lnkd.in/de38UNWh #MusicAndMentalHealth #SoundSleep #HarmonyInHealth #Wellness #SleepSolutions #menopausesupport So good to meet you Sadia Salam Carrie Swift - Presentation Skills Coach Kim Arnold - Emails that get results Rachel Vecht 🌞🏡Suraiya RasheedIshreen Bradley - Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

Enjoyed a brilliant evening of conversation, networking and inspiration at WorkLife Central's annual drinks evening yesterday hosted by the wonderful CBRE in their beautiful offices. The star of the show was absolutely Rob Stephenson⁸ 🐙who provided such an interesting and unique perspective into music and mental health, playing a variety of tracks that align with different moods and sharing his personal mental health journey along the way. It was really wonderful to see such a mix of clients, members, bloggers and experts there, all of whom have played an integral part in the WorkLife Central story, and so lovely to be able to enjoy some very rare in-person chat. Happy Birthday WorkLife Central - 11 years old this week!

Sometimes the smallest of actions can make the biggest impact… …so with it being Mental Health Awareness Week and entrusted to organise something for the V7 team, I got thinking. Recruitment is a fast paced industry, 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵. Our consultants are constantly on the go, always on the phone and their brains are working at one hundred miles per hour. But they’re also the most important asset to the business and a vital cog in making V7 what it is. What could we do to show our appreciation and help brighten their Tuesday? 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁! 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿! It’s one of the most important meals of the day but easily neglected when you’re in a rush to get to the office. So, Martyna and I crafted a colourful breakfast platter, full with tropical fruits, pastries and motivational quotes - 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘰𝘯 𝘱𝘩𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘮 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 - for everyone to enjoy together as a team this morning before the working day began. Big gestures are great.. but sometimes just showing your appreciation for those around you through normal activities - 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘬𝘧𝘢𝘴𝘵 - can go a long way. #mentalhealthawarenessweek #MHAW #companyculture

Working together on the farm can be both rewarding and challenging. Here are some tips to foster mental wellbeing while collaborating: 1. Open Communication: Regularly check in with each other and share thoughts and concerns openly. 2. Respect Boundaries: Recognize and respect each other's limits and personal space. 3. Support Each Other: Offer help and encouragement when someone is struggling or stressed. 4. Share Responsibilities: Distribute tasks evenly to prevent burnout and promote teamwork. 5. Practice Gratitude: Show appreciation for each other's efforts and contributions. 6. Take Breaks Together: Use break times to relax and bond, creating a supportive work environment. 7. Celebrate Achievements: Acknowledge and celebrate both small and large accomplishments as a team. Creating a positive and supportive work environment can significantly enhance mental well-being. Thanks to our partner Saskatchewan Pulse Growers for supporting mental health conversations in agriculture. 🌟

This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, we are reflecting on how we can look after our mental health in the workplace. It can be easy to skip your breaks and get into the 'work zone' for hours without drinking water, so here's some of the tips from our team: 🏃♀️Lisa Hust - "In line with the #MomentsForMovement theme this year, take a walk in your break. We have beautiful scenery around our Estate, including the River Nene, that we sometimes take for granted. Getting outside can reset your mind - some of our staff even go for a run before work!" 🗣 Georgia Wales - "It's important you ask for support when you need it. Sometimes it can feel like your workload is overflowing, but talk to your manager or supervisor. That's what we're here for!" 🐶 Chloe Finch - "My personal favourite is bringing your dog to work. I don't have my own, but I LOVE when the dogs are in the office, it makes everyone smile and encourages people to take their breaks too!" 👩🏫 Natasha Bolton - "Make sure you take time to reflect on your achievements. I personally like to grab a cup of tea with my learning volunteers after a school visit, have a debrief and a laugh and then crack on!" What is your organisation doing this #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek to recognise and reflect? 💡 Jack Pishhorn

Inspired by what connections and colleagues are sharing, let’s continue with something I have found helpful and supports my wellbeing and resilience. Gratitude can bring some balance when things are challenging, many studies of this show it has a positive impact on our happiness and wellbeing. It is easy to practice and something to try when you can, a good way to start or close your day. Here is a short recording that can guide a little. Kind regards Mark https://lnkd.in/eZYRidXt

Thanks to Toni, Clare and Faye for organising such a thoughtful range of activities for our team to take part in during the Mental Health Foundation's Mental Health Awareness Week last week. 💡🧠 Activities included: 🌻 Self-care bingo, where colleagues were asked to share some of the things they do to take care of themselves to a collaborative grid. This was a great way of getting to know each other better and get some self-care inspiration. Some of our team's most popular self-care activities included running, crafts, reading, cooking and walking in nature. 🤸♂️ Inspired by movement - the theme of #MHAW2024 - our team was encouraged to block out half an hour for a walk-and-talk session. Members of our team went on a walk with a colleague or while talking to a remote colleague on the phone, snapping pics of things they saw that brought them joy along the way. This was a great opportunity to connect with our colleagues and get active during the working day. Toni also shared a useful reminder about the support our team can access via our Employee Assistance Programme, and Faye shared some info and top tips on mindfulness. Thanks again to everyone for your engagement and making this week a success. You can check out a few pictures from the team’s walks below. #MentalHealthAwareness #TeamSupport #WellbeingAtWork

I woke up today in my favorite city just in time to catch the sunrise, feeling grateful as the last day of May unfolds. With June approaching fast, time seems to be flying by. Last week, my physical therapist mentioned that I was moving so quickly that my spirit couldn't keep up. As Mental Health Awareness Month ends, it’s essential to remember the valuable tips picked up during the last 31 days. Here are some strategies I've embraced: - Take timeouts: Today, I went to breakfast without my phone, enjoying a seat with a view of the water and the Statue of Liberty. It brought back cherished memories of a childhood visit with my sisters and our church youth group. - Protect your space: In a world of social media and increased interaction, it's crucial to be selective about who enters your space and for how long, in both personal and business relationships. Assess if a business relationship is not adding value to your organization and is sometimes toxic, it might be wise to plan your exit. - Be selfish: Putting yourself first is okay. People managers are under immense pressure to please all parties involved. It’s essential to be vocal about your needs, address what isn't working, and make necessary changes for a better workplace experience. Remember, you matter too! #mentalhealthawareness #happyfriday
