Beautiful exercise to deeply consider who you really are, and what you are consciously or unconsciously changing to fit in/gain acceptance.

Want to know a secret? To be a truly good husband, father, or leader requires humility. Success does not require humility. But elevating other people does. Humility is not a poor self-perception or denigrating yourself. But it is setting aside your desire to be the center of attention or to be the star of the show. It is the thoughtful consideration of the needs of the people you love or those who've been placed under your authority in some way, shape, or form. It's the quiet confidence that knows yourself and others well enough to spend time considering how you can help them grow without any need to receive recognition for doing so. There are more men out there who embrace humility than you might realize (that is sort of the point). But we will always need more.

When we are born, we are simply ourselves. We don’t even know how to be anything else. But as we grow, we learn what gets us approval and what doesn't. This fear of judgment can make us hide parts of ourselves that we think others won't accept. We wear masks to fit in, but it's tiring and feels fake. When we pretend to be someone else, it creates inner conflict. Whereas, leading with our authentic selves, or living out our “I AM” energy, allows us to lead and live how we truly want to. 💌 Here’s our invitation to you: Using the I AM model, reflect on who you truly are and what values you hold dear. Then, reflect on what happens when your fear and ego gets in the way. They are messy They have a pretend linear thought pattern since you’re constantly pivoting and changing in a new direction for your desired outcome Braving the world with piercing clarity is a work in progress, you got to put in the time Living like a leader means breaking predictable cycles and expectations to move at a constant pace forward You have to have the strength that while you are building your vision, you need to put to rest the demons that have been your constant “go to” because living in fear and regret over showing your greatness just seemed easier Know yourself more to be able to do more Clear your basement of all the boxes you’ve stored your unrealized self from so long ago. That person has got to go Respect starts with you. Don’t look for it in others. They won’t give it to you. Earn it for yourself.. first. Challenging the Notion of Staying Silent Many people share the quote attributed to Mark Twain: "It is better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt." However, I disagree with this sentiment. Throughout history, the so-called "elite" or "experts" have often told us to stay silent and follow orders, implying that we are foolish if we don't. This is a classic technique of suppression, using the fear of embarrassment to keep people from speaking their minds. In reality, open dialogue and the freedom to express our thoughts are vital for growth and enlightenment. Suppressing our voices only serves to perpetuate control and diminish our individual and collective potential. Instead of staying silent, we should encourage each other to speak up, share ideas, and challenge the status quo. Let’s embrace our right to think critically and express ourselves freely, without the fear of being labeled as fools.
