In this course, we will discuss the Industrial Packaging Machine project. First, we’ll get into the basics, and then with every lesson, we will dig deeper into the project. This course covers the power system, the control system (PLC Siemens S7-1200), and the safety system (SICK Safe EFI-pro System). We will also explain how the machine is controlled and why we need the input and output signals. By the end of the course, you will understand how to start designing an electrical system for an industrial packaging machine. In this course, you will: - Learn about the electrical design of an industrial packaging machine. - Learn about a power system on this project. - Learn about a safety system on this project (Sick Safety Controller). - Learn about PLC and I/O signals on this project (Siemens S7-1200). - Learn an example of an automation system for an industrial machine. - See how the cabinet looks like in reality – photos of the electrical cabinet. - Compare detailed design and as-built situation of the cabinet (photos).

I will tell you why I primarily do not read electrical theory books. It is why I spent $100,000 on 50 seminars/training in electrical power engineering. Shocker, isn't it? And it does not include airline fees, meals, and hotels. At one point, I racked up credit cards to pay for some of those training. This is what I realized about books: 1- I am no longer in school. Unfortunately, most books are geared toward the academy, not from a practical standpoint of an electrical worker in the field. 2- There are more efficient ways to learn in practice than reading most books. It takes a lot of reading for nonexperts to retain knowledge permanently if you primarily learn from reading books. 3- Books are perfect for experts. You will learn if you are not an expert, but it will take a tremendous amount of reading and rereading. 4- The few exceptions to most books are instruction manuals: They are written in such a way that you will highly retain the knowledge The image below shows a few of those classes and training I took. I took much more classes Than that. A few points about training/seminars - All my training/seminars were at least 3 days long. - All of the training/seminars were face to face - Equipment owners did all the training/seminars. What we need to understand: You will always learn something no matter what you read. But will it stay in your brain 6 months, 1 year, 5 years later? The limiting factor is not the amount of knowledge but the time. We need to be efficient! EEEngineering, LLC #windenergy #epassa #engineering #powersystems #engineering
