How it’s done.
As a Public Information Officer, I spend hours writing and rewriting words that accurately and effectively describe the work of the men and women in the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office because it is crucial that our community is informed and aware of what our agency is doing to serve and protect our residents. Today, I spent hours out with our Deputies as they performed welfare checks and brought cold weather supplies to the unhoused members of our community. Today I didn’t write; today I listened and watched. Tomorrow I will write about what they did and I’ll share those words with the public. I will pour every ounce of skill I have into crafting words to describe what I was part of today because we have men and women doing things to make our county better and that is information people need to hear.

As a financial administrator, I understand the crucial role that intelligent financial planning plays in addressing the needs of a community. My interest in this field stems from recognizing the importance of proper planning based on socio-economic research. Urban planning, industry development, education, and sanitation systems are all complex issues that require a comprehensive approach. Financial administration is just one of the specialties needed to address these challenges. I am proud to be part of a profession that plays such a critical role in shaping our communities and improving the quality of life for all. #financialadministration #communityplanning #socioeconomicresearch

Greetings, everyone! As a candidate for Leavenworth County Commission, I've reviewed the county budget and commend the Commission for effectively managing our resources under tight constraints. They've proposed a modest 2% pay increase for county staff, a prudent fiscal move. I want to move beyond typical political rhetoric, drain the swamp, and all the ways to use a lot of words to say as little as possible. I am continuing to study and I am looking for more input but I have identified 5 initiatives that I think are critical 1. **Improving Infrastructure:** It's crucial to invest in our roads, utilities, and public facilities to accommodate our community's growth and support local businesses. 2. **Promoting Economic Diversity:** We need to attract new industries and opportunities that enhance revenue without resorting to increased taxes. This involves fostering local entrepreneurship and leveraging grants for sustainable development. 3. **Ensuring Environmental Sustainability:** Balancing growth with environmental preservation is essential. We must adopt policies that protect our natural resources while responsibly managing development. 4. **Addressing Housing Affordability:** Rising property taxes are straining long-time residents. We must explore innovative solutions to help them remain in their homes without financial strain. 5. **Enhancing Community Health and Safety:** Supporting our law enforcement and tackling issues like substance abuse are paramount. We need proactive strategies to maintain public safety and support our community.

Mailing list selections are changing! Recent adjustments have eliminated the option to include Ethnicity as a selection. This change has already taken effect in Colorado, Connecticut, and Virginia, and will be implemented in Texas, Florida, and Oregon starting in July. By October, Montana will also see this change. While some list providers have already removed Ethnicity from all state selections, we can still access it through other providers until each state's deadline. Once these deadlines have passed, Ethnicity will no longer be available as a list selection. #financialadvisors #insuranceindustry #financialservices

This is concerning if you live, work, or go to school in the City of Pittsburgh. I'm thankful to not have to be in the city after 7 pm on most days. I would love the department to provide a definition of an "in-progress emergency" so we can have full clarity on what calls are going to get a response. Also, how do you determine if the emergency is still in progress or not, things change fast in an emergency. "Pittsburgh police will no longer personally respond to calls that aren’t considered “in-progress emergencies” after recent department policy changes. Calls not considered “in-progress emergencies” will be assigned by dispatch to a telephone recording unit. The city’s website states, “Creation of an enhanced Telephone Reporting Unit (TRU) operating from 7-3 a.m. daily, including weekends. Dispatch will assign reports to the TRU for calls that do not require an in-person response by officers."

🛑 Problem: City R faced a challenge as it duplicated graffiti removal efforts across multiple departments due to limited visibility, resulting in wasted resources and confusion for residents reporting graffiti. The lack of ownership led to budget allocation in three departments and difficulties in directing resident reports effectively. 💚 Solution: City R improved efficiency by centralizing oversight of the graffiti removal program under a single department, while also implementing a streamlined workflow and public outreach to inform residents about the responsible department and contact information for graffiti removal. ➡ Outcome: The new streamlined workflow resulted in a more than ⭐400 percent⭐ decrease in budgeted dollars for graffiti removal and freed up resources to work on other initiatives that supported community priorities. Local governments, we’re here for you. Let’s talk Priority-Based Budgeting and how it could work for you. Schedule a demo here:
