Use and performance of the graphite electrode Graphite electrode is a high temperature resistant graphite qualitative conductive material, and do you know the use and performance of graphite electrode? Graphite electrode classification: ordinary power graphite electrode (RP); high power graphite electrode (HP); quasi-ultra-high power graphite electrode (SHP); ultra-high power graphite electrode (UHP). For arc steel furnace Graphite electrode material can mainly be used for electric furnace steelmaking. Electric furnace steelmaking is the use of research graphite electrode to import the working current into the furnace. The powerful current at the lower end of the electrode can affect the arc discharge through these gas environment, and use the heat generated by the arc for smelting. This... It's called an electric ark furnace and it's unlike anything you've ever been in proximity to in your life. The electric arc furnace operates as a batch melting process producing batches of molten steel known "heats". The electric arc furnace operating cycle is called the tap-to-tap cycle and is made up of the following operations: Furnace charging Melting Refining De-slagging Tapping Furnace turn-around Modern operations aim for a tap-to-tap time of less than 60 minutes. Some twin shell furnace operations are achieving tap-to-tap times of 35 to 40 minutes. The predominant way of making steel in the United Sates is by using an electric arc furnace (EAF) to melt scrap steel, which results in the formation of a rock-like material called slag. Among its various applications, EAF slag is used in a loose or unencapsulated form as ground cover material for residential landscaping. However, the slag generated from the EAF process can contain toxic metals, which can be hazardous to human and environmental health.
