We love seeing Slam being used in all mixed reality environments, both indoors and outdoors. Keep moving beyond limits and enjoying your workouts wherever you are!

OK, now that we've got that out of the way... Enjoy this experiment playing FitXR's SLAM on my front porch!! The only issue is that some of the targets were placed inside a flower bush that had bees in it 🤣 but otherwise, a good time was had and it got me exercising. Sam Cole this one's for you! #MR in the actual wild.
Product design too often tries to fob off deeply engrained human behaviours as something 'people will get used to'. And then great athletes tumble to the floor in an empty room, muttering "f*kking 'eck" on the way down.
Ronnie O' Sullivan is probably the best snooker player to have ever played the game. A few years ago, he was asked to participate in a VR snooker experience. What better way to promote the possibilities of the technology's realism?
Except it was too real. Ronnie stacked it, falling over in an empty room because he tried to lean on the virtual table while attempting a shot.
And people watching that were reminded that VR is not real.
VR has had some success in gaming and arenas where we are taken into non-real worlds. Our brains are more easily able to understand that it's not real, and match that up to the false visual environment.
But it's harder for us to do that with real-life replicas. And it's incredibly cognitively taxing to force our brains to keep remembering that.
So most of us simply prefer not to. That's a big part of why VR entertainment, in my view, hasn't taken off. Because at a fundamental level, we don't want to have to keep working harder than we have to. And this forces us to do it. We have to keep remembering to tell ourselves "what you're seeing isn't real". And that's tiring.
It's why AR has seen more success in areas like replicating medical produres that are overlaid on real-life operating environments. Our brains have to work less hard to complete the picture and sort the real from the non.
And whenever we ask people's brains to work harder than they naturally want to, we make any product harder to adopt.

I have a new toy to play with: HTC VIVE Trackers and a full-body kit by Rebuff Reality! It's time for me to have a bit of fun with full-body virtual reality and remind the old times when I used VR and Kinects!
This is a video of me unboxing the kit.
