For over thirty-five years, the Anne Arundel County Food Bank (AACFB) has provided critical services such as food, emergency supplies, and other necessities free of charge to our network pantry partners and the neighbors we serve. During the pandemic crisis through the relief provided by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), AACFB was awarded approximately $1.3M annually for four consecutive years to meet the high demand for food assistance. The COVID-relief funding to support hunger relief efforts that the food bank has relied on to meet the demand will end in June 2024. Yet the need for supplemental food in our community remains alarmingly high. Currently, AACFB is averaging more than 48,000 points of service monthly. This is 13% more than this time last year. Join us at one of Anne Arundel County's upcoming budget town hall meetings to testify to the positive impact that the work of the Food Bank has on you, your immediate community, and/or the County as a whole. Partnership at the county level is needed now more than ever to ensure that the people of Anne Arundel County experiencing food insecurity can continue to access fresh, nourishing food, free of charge. #advocacy #foodinsecurity #annearundelcounty
Community voices are critical in our democracy, whether in Washington or closer to home. The food bank is sharing our voice at the county’s upcoming budget town halls, advocating for much needed dollars to help alleviate food insecurity in our county. There are politicians who benefit financially through every crisis. Let’s look at the drug issues. They have no intention of solving the problem. Look at the politicians heavily invested in or sponsored by the big pharmaceutical companies. Who benefits from this issue? Who makes Narcan? Big pharmaceutical companies. Who pays for Narcan? The tax payers. Money laundering at its finest. This is why I’m getting into politics. I spent 16 years as a licensed financial consultant, scrutinizing every transaction of the general public against the anti money laundering laws. I began to realize that I needed to look closely at the political system of this country. It’s time we fix this. My nephew has been in rehab since May. He was 4 months into a 12 month program, and realized he wasn’t focused on trying to learn to live without it. He started over in September. I think he is focused on learning the program and tools that will help him stay clean afterwards. Now, we can turn our attention to the energy sector in Texas. I have employees and former employees of the Texas Railroad Commission working with my campaign. I have been told that the Commission is overpaying to plug and abandon the orphaned wells across the state. Who is paying to plug these wells? You guessed it, the taxpayers. Texas is taking millions of dollars from the federal government to plug the wells. There are those politicians heavily invested in the companies that get the contracts to do the work; while other companies are told the Commission can’t endorse their business or product. It’s time we put Texas politics on the Right track. I need your help to begin the process. Would you consider a $10 donation to my campaign? I am taking on the entire Republican Establishment of Texas in my first race March 5th, 2024. Once I win the primary race, I will have to defeat thethe Democrat nominee and those who run as third party. I’m in it to win it for you. #politicsandlaw #politics #political #texas #texasinsurance #oilandgas #addiction #addictionawareness #addictionrecovery #addictiontreatment #greed #matlock4rrc #newstoday #newstoday #newsalert #newsolutions #newspaper https://lnkd.in/gzervY6y

"NO FOOD" AFRO AMERICAN URBAN COMMUNITIES Hunger hits Black communities harder It's time to call out the unfair practices of big-money companies who think they can pick and choose who deserves access to food in our city. Enough with the exclusive "members-only" mentality and the endless hoops individuals and local organizations have to jump through just to get a bite to eat. Let's talk about Donald. Donald, who's been tirelessly working to feed the community. But instead of getting support, he's faced with endless tests and hurdles imposed by the Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) and Food For Free. Why should someone have to prove their worthiness to help others? It's unacceptable that well-funded organizations like GBFB and Feeding America, with over $100 million in resources, still manage to miss serving urban communities. How is it possible that those who need help the most are being overlooked? We refuse to stand by while big company’s police who gets to eat and who doesn't. Access to food should be a basic human right, not a privilege reserved for those who can jump through bureaucratic hoops or meet someone else's agenda. It's time for a change. It's time to demand accountability from these organizations and ensure that they're serving ALL communities, not just the ones that fit their criteria or agenda. We may not have a checkbook to pay employees to police their agenda, but we do have voices, and we will use them to fight for fairness and equality in food access for all Bostonians. #EndFoodDiscrimination #EqualityForAll #BostonStrong 💪🍽️
