Our other favorite attitude of science is philosophical doubt, which asks us to never stop asking questions, and always question what we have learned. This is exactly what we tell our students! As you're learning, if something doesn't seem right, if you disagree, if you have questions, ask them. Raise your concerns. Bring your ideas. THAT critical thinking is what makes great behavior analysts! #CriticalThinking #AlwaysAskQuestions #QuestioningIsGood #Grow

In today's wicked world, it's tempting to passively accept the myriad opinions that come our way. We can easily become consumers of viewpoints, rather than critical thinkers. However, real understanding isn't merely about absorbing information; it's about actively engaging with it, challenging it, and shaping our own perspectives. Authentic learning can be a messy endeavor. It's nonlinear, and doesn't always adhere to preconceived structures. But it's in this mess that the richest and most important insights often emerge. https://lnkd.in/eF7YFFtd

As the world becomes increasingly digitized, the amount of information we receive on a daily basis has skyrocketed. But how much of it can we trust? This is where critical thinking comes in. It's always been an essential skill, but now more than ever, it's crucial. With so much unfiltered information out there, we need to rely on our cognitive abilities to separate fact from fiction. Don't underestimate the power of critical thinking - it could be the difference between being misinformed or well-informed. #criticalthinking

🔍 Unraveling the Threads of Logic 🧵💭 Greetings LinkedIn community! 🌐 Excited to embark on a journey into the profound world of logical reasoning with you. Join me in exploring insights from Aristotle, Bertrand Russell, and Immanuel Kant, as we unravel the art of critical thinking. 🚀 Ever wondered about the essence of an educated mind? Aristotle offers a beacon: "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." Let's dive into the foundations of logical reasoning, where the ability to critically engage with ideas becomes the bedrock for a sound and informed perspective. 🔍 Exploring Foundations: As Aristotle guides us, we'll delve into the intricacies of logical reasoning. 🤔 Understanding the power of critically engaging with ideas is not just a skill; it's a mindset that shapes a robust logical framework. 💡 Bertrand Russell's Insight: Russell's observation hits home: "The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world, the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt." Here, we'll reflect on the necessity of humility in logical reasoning, reminding ourselves to question assumptions and avoid unwarranted confidence. 🌐 Immanuel Kant's Perspective: Kant leads us to the crux: "All our knowledge begins with the senses, proceeds then to the understanding, and ends with reason. There is nothing higher than reason." Together, we'll explore how reason becomes the guiding force, organizing our experiences and helping us make sense of the intricacies that surround us. 🎯 The Recap: Logical reasoning, as we'll discover, involves a symphony of thoughts. It demands acknowledging uncertainty, embracing doubt, and using reason as the compass in our pursuit of knowledge. 🤓✨ Share your experiences with logical reasoning! How has it shaped your perspectives? Let's build a community of thoughtful discourse. Comment below and let the discussion begin! Looking forward to the collective exploration of logical reasoning excellence! 🚀✨ #LogicalReasoning #CriticalThinking #PhilosophyInAction
